Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Monday visited a fuel distribution outlet here to see if "social distancing" norms as emphasized by government to combat COVID-19 pandemic was being followed by people.

During visit, chief minister told people to maintain social distancing norms and asked security personnel deployed to check identity cards of those who are coming to fuel station. " first priority is to save lives as this coronavirus is an unseen enemy," he told reporters, ding that "protocols are to be strictly followed as we have to be careful for re has been rise of new COVID-19 related cases in or parts of country."

Fuel is being distributed at selected outlets for few hours for those who are exempted from purview of ongoing lockdown.
