Manipur political situation will not have any impact in Meghalaya: Conrad Sangma
Meghalaya Chief Minister and National Peoples Party (NPP) president Conrad K Sangma on Thursday said the political situation in Manipur will not have any impact in Meghalaya.

Meghalaya Chief Minister and National Peoples Party (NPP) president Conr K Sangma on Thursday said political situation in Manipur will t have any impact in Meghalaya. Four NPP MLAs, who were all ministers in BJP-led coalition government led by N Biren Singh in Manipur, resigned from cabinet on Wednesday and have pledged support to Congress.
" situation that is unfolding in Manipur has to do a lot with leership, it is more of an individual-centric issue and it will t have any impact in Meghalaya," Sangma told reporters.

NPP president said he has also discussed and apprised coalition partners of Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) on situation during a meeting held on Wednesday.
"I have assured everybody that Manipur situation will t have any impact in Meghalaya," he ded.

BJP is a member of Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government led by Conr Sangma in Meghalaya. He also assured that Manipur situation will also t have any verse effect on election to lone Rajya Sabha seat which will be held on Friday. He said NPP h withdrawn support to BJP-led government in Manipur after three BJP MLAs resigned.
Sangma said, " main reason has been some concerns regarding leership of (Manipur) chief minister and re were situations where some of portfolios were taken away from our ministers..." NPP president said he has also brought matter to tice of central leership of BJP in New Delhi.

"We are trying to resolve this issue to a large extent and efforts are on but resignation of BJP MLAs has finally triggered this entire sequence of events. I am in touch with m (NPP MLAs) and trying to resolve this situation," Sangma said.
He said two national secretaries of NPP have been asked to visit Manipur to meet MLAs and submit a report to him.
