Mayawati slams both Oppn, govt over Monsoon Session chaos

BSP supremo Mayawati Wednesday hit out at government as well as Opposition for ruckus and chaos during ongoing Monsoon Session, saying ir conduct has harmed dignity of Parliament and Constitution.

In a tweet in Hindi, she said "Although Parliament is called temple of democracy, its dignity has been shredded many times. Even during ongoing Parliament session, functioning of government and behaviour of Opposition in House are embarrassing for dignity of Parliament, Constitution and democracy. Very s!” Mayawati’s reaction came in wake of eight Rajya Sabha Opposition members being suspended from House on Monday for ruckus during pass of two key farm Bills a day earlier.

government h brought a motion for ir suspension which was passed by House by voice vote.

Opposition has been alleging government did t follow proper procedures during pass of Bills and didn’t allow division of votes as it lacked numbers.

suspended MPs sat on an overnight dharna on Parliament complex which y ended after Opposition decided to boycott Lok Sabha proceedings in solidarity.
