Mayawati slams opposition for visiting Guru Ravidas' temple for political interests
BSP president and former UP CM Mayawati on Sunday took to Twitter and slammed the opposition parties for visiting Guru Ravidas' temple for only vested interests

Former Uttar Presh Chief Minister and Bahujan Samaj Party President Mayawati on Sunday took to her official Twitter handle and slammed Congress and BJP for 'visiting temples for vested interests.'
attack by BSP chief comes on occasion of great Indian saint and poet Ravidas's birth anniversary. BSP chief in her tweet also stated that BSP is only party that offered due respect to Guru Ravidas on various levels.

Mayawati's tweet roughly translates as, "BJP, Congress, and or parties never honoured saint-poet Ravidas during ir tenure. And now y are indulging in "atrics" by visiting temples to realise ir vested interests. Be careful of se people."

Mayawati wrote, " BSP, on or hand, has been only party, which during its government, gave respect to him at various levels, which opposition parties are trying to put an end to. This is highly condemnable."

About Guru Ravidas
Born in Varanasi, Guru Ravidas was an Indian mystic poet and saint who was actively involved with Bhakti movement during 15th and 16th century CE. devotional songs written by saint are said to have left a lasting impact upon Bhakti movement.
Guru Ravidas's devotional songs were also included in Sikh scripture of Guru Granth Sahib. i Granth of Sikhs and Panchvani of Hindu warrior-ascetic group Dupanthis are two oldest attested sources of literary works of saint poet.
