MEA shows the mirror to Pakistan on Babri verdict criticism, preaches 'democratic ethos'
On Thursday, the MEA took a dig at Pakistan's criticism of the Babri mosque demolition case verdict in which all the 32 accused persons were acquitted.

On Thursday, Ministry of External Affairs took a dig at Pakistan's criticism of Babri mosque demolition case verdict in which all accused were acquitted. Earlier, Pakistan Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri accused Indian judiciary of being "pliant" under BJP regime. He also expressed concern over alleged permeation of "extremist Hindutva ideology" in all state institutions of India.
dressing a press briefing, MEA official spokesperson Anurag Srivastava stated that India is a mature democracy wherein people respected verdict of courts. reafter, he pointed out that people and judiciary in Pakistan are silenced at behest of military establishment. According to him, neighbouring country would find it hard to understand democratic ethos of India.

MEA spokesperson Anurag Srivastava remarked, "India is a mature democracy where governments and people abide by verdicts of court and show respect for rule of law. It may be difficult for a system with a coercive apparatus where people and courts can be silenced at will of establishment to understand such a democratic ethos."

What is Babri mosque demolition case?
On December 6, 1992, Babri mosque in Ayodhya was demolished by 'Kar Sevaks' who claimed that land on which religious place was built is birthplace of Lord Ram. While criminal conspiracy charges against 32 accused including former Deputy PM LK vani and or BJP leers such as Uma Bharti, Murli Mahar Joshi, Vinay Katiyar, Kalyan Singh, Sakshi Maharaj, etc. were dropped by a trial court in 2001, Supreme Court restored m in 2017. y were also alleged to have me assertions "prejudicial to national integration and injuring or defiling a place of worship", indulging in "deliberate and malicious" acts intended to outr religious feelings, uttering statements leing to public mischief, rioting and unlawful assembly.
On ir part, accused maintained that re is evidence to prove that y instigated 'Kar Sevaks' to demolish mosque. Delivering 2300-p judgment, special CBI judge SK Yav ruled that Babri mosque's demolition was t pre-meditated and that re was criminal conspiracy. Moreover, he observed that accused h actually tried to stop mob. Furrmore, judge ded that aunticity of audio and video clips produced by CBI could t be proven.
