Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar follows Sushma Swaraj's footsteps, continues to help Indians in trouble abroad through Twitter outreach

On May 31, a day after taking charge of the ministry, Jaishankar appreciated the promptness of the Indian Embassy in Riyadh in helping a Kolkata-based man stranded in Saudi Arabia.

Following which he has been responding to grievances of the Indian living abroad by mentioning the handles of the concerned embassies and extending other support.

A Twitter user sought help from the minister to help her find her husband in Kuwait, claiming that her husband is not "responding to court summons" in the middle-east country. In a quick response, Jaishankar said: "Our Embassy in Kuwait is already working on it. Please be in touch with them."
In another instance, the Minister of External Affairs promised an Indian family to help find their passports that got lost in Italy during the trip.

Dr Jaishankar has taken over Sushma Swaraj, who was quite active on social media solving the grievances of the Indians living abroad. He joined social media website Twitter on Saturday morning and in his first tweet that he posted on the micro-blogging platform, he said that he is proud to follow on the footsteps of former MEA Sushma Swaraj.
