Speaking to media on Thursday, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut asserted that Maha Vikas Aghi government would complete its tenure under "guidance" of NCP chief Shar Pawar. He refuted tion of any disagreement in Sena-NCP-Congress alliance in Maharashtra. Rubbishing any threat to Uddhav Thackeray-led government, he revealed that it has backing of 170 MLAs, which is more than a sufficient number over majority mark in Maharashtra Assembly.
Sanjay Raut remarked, "Everything is going well. body should worry. This government will complete its 5-year term under guidance of Shar Pawar. All of us want this government to function for 5 years. Shar Pawar is t in power himself. Even I am t (in power). Our job is to consistently back people in power."
"At this moment, government led by Uddhav Thackeray has backing of 170 MLAs. It is more than sufficient. We don't feel need to have support of more legislators at this juncture," he ded.

NCP trashes reports of defection
Amid speculation that 12 NCP MLAs are likely to join BJP by August-end, Maharashtra Minister and NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik on Monday issued a strong denial. Sources h hinted that 12 legislators hailing from Western Maharashtra are in touch with BJP's central leership. Reportedly unhappy with functioning of Maha Vikas Aghi government, se MLAs also allegedly backed Ajit Pawar to form government with BJP on vember 23, 2019.

In fact, Malik claimed that NCP MLAs who h joined BJP before 2019 Assembly polls were er to return to party fold. Stressing that decision h been taken on re-inducting se legislators, NCP spokesperson assured that a call will be taken in this regard soon. Maha Vikas Aghi government was formed after Sena's bitter fallout with BJP over demand for rotational CM. On multiple occasions, Maharashtra BJP has denied poaching attempts and predicted that Sena-NCP-Congress government shall collapse under weight of its own contrictions.
