Ahead of the Assembly polls, which will be held in 2019, Republic TV, in association with CVoter, has come with the National Approval Ratings to bring forward the mood of the nation in the present time. The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) is presently in power in the centre, as well as 21 states, either alone or through a coalition of NDA.

In 2014, NDA, UPA and AAP shared seats amongst each other in a mouthwatering contest. BJP, in alliance with SAD, won six seats and was the biggest party in the state. Congress won three seats, while the newly formed AAP surprised everyone with four seats.
But 2019 is likely to see a landslide win for Congress. They are predicted to win 12 of the 13 seats, with a vote share of 41.7%. NDA is set to fall down to a mere 1, with BJP drawing blank and SAD saving the face for the alliance.

AAP would be the biggest loser if these predictions are proved right. From 4 seats, they will fall down to 0, and their vote share will also go down. It will be a major blow to the party for whom Punjab is the only state after Delhi where their presence is huge.

The BJP is looking at a bleak picture wherein it is losing its own 2 seats gained in 2014 and the SAD’s four seats is slumping to one. Thereby, as of September, the mood in Punjab gives the NDA a single seat out of 13, which will be a big cause of worry for Amit Shah.

Capt Amrinder SIngh has much to be optimistic about, given the fact that he is single handedly rescuing the Congress from it's 3 seat tally in 2014 to 12 seats. That is not only a gain of 9 seats btu also a gain that has come by eboewoign the AAp and the BJP and swallowing their losses as the Congress’ gains.
(The results of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections may or may not reflect the results or scenarios of the state assembly elections, nevertheless, to establish where we stand at present, Republic TV and CVoter has presented the National Approval Ratings.)
