With Lok Sabha elections 2019 inching closer, Republic TV and CVoter have presented National Approval Ratings to give a complete national picture as to who will win if polls are held on vember 1, 2018. While re are 14 seats up for grabs in Assam, projection looks like this:
- 9 of 14 are slated to swing NDA way, 4 are to swing UPA way and one to swing AIUDF way.
- While overall it seems like a complete status quo from September 2018 predictions in terms of seat share very fact that BJP has been able to hold on to 45.2% of vote share and 9 out of 14 seats in Assam despite national discourse moving away from NRC, is a significant achievement for Amit Shah, Himanta Biswa Sarma and Sarbananda Sowal.
- Considering fact that Assam is slated to take its tally vis-a-vis BJP to 8 which is higher than what state recorded in 2014 (7) is re a surety that this 9 of 14 figure will swell once PM hits ground for campaigning?
- While Congress could have benefitted from exploiting any anti-incumbency at state and centre level at Assam, given fact that Rahul Gandhi’s 3 seat tally has gone up to only 4 in 4 years of Modi rule
- Undoubtedly biggest loser in it all has to be AIUDF whose tally of 3 seats has w dived to 1

2018 has been a blockbuster year so far as far as political landscape of India is concerned. With countdown to all-important 2019 Lok Sabha polls on, and with critical assembly elections in five states due in next few weeks, vember may just be most important month in terms of deciding who will come up trumps in general elections. Even as Prime Minister dedicated world's tallest statue -- Statue of Unity -- to nation on 143rd birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and a few days before that, commemorated Subhash Chandra Bose and 75th anniversary of Azad Hind Government, a massive war of words was triggered over appropriation of freedom icons. Additionally, Supreme Court has delayed its hearings in Ayodhya dispute, and will only decide in January when hearings will take place. This has caused many among pro-Mandir bent-of-mind, including RSS, VHP and Hindu Mahasabha, to push government to do whatever it can to build Ram Mandir, with an ordinance on matter most frequently stated solution. In last month has seen heated polemics over events at CBI, with government acting on CVC's recommendation to send two top-most officers at India's premier investigative ncy -- Rakesh Asthana and Alok Verma -- on leave after y had both accused or of corruption.
results of 2019 Lok Sabha elections may or may t reflect results or scenarios of state assembly elections, neverless, to establish where we stand at present, Republic TV and CVoter has presented National Approval Ratings.
