Ahead of the Assembly polls, which will be held in 2019, Republic TV, in association with CVoter, has come with the National Approval Ratings to bring forward the mood of the nation in the present time. The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) is presently in power in the centre, as well as 21 states, either alone or through a coalition of NDA.
One of the most important place where all the political parties will be interested in 2019 will be Delhi, despite it having just 7 seats.
For years, it used to be a two-way fight between Congress and BJP. But in 2014, AAP made their way to give the people of the capital an option. Though, the citizens sidelined the new party, choosing BJP for all the seven seats.
And if the predictions is anything to go by, then the same result is expected. The BJP will put the same performance yet again, winning all the seats. Though, their vote share is expected to fall by 4.7%. Congress, though not winning any seat, will see a huge improvement in vote share. From 15.1%, they are expected to win 28% of the votes.
AAP, the newbie then, looks like they have lost their popularity. They had a staggering 32.9% vote share in 2014, but it looks set to drop to 26.5% this time around. The Others had 5.5% then, and it will fall to 3.7%.
-
It’s a big thud in Delhi for the Opposition because despite all the complaints of Arvind Kejriwal and antics of Ajay Maken, teh BJP seems to be retaining its 7 parliamentary constituencies in the state.
-
AAP which swept the elections in 2015 with 54.% of the voteshare seems to have declined significantly in terms of popularity with its voteshare crashing out by about half since then given that these projects give Kejriwal only 26.5% of the vote
(The results of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections may or may not reflect the results or scenarios of the state assembly elections, nevertheless, to establish where we stand at present, Republic TV and CVoter has presented the National Approval Ratings.)
