NCP welcomes PM Modi's 'quitting social media' post, advises 'Bhakts' to follow suit
Reacting to Prime Minister Modi’s surprise announcement about his intention to quit social media, NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik welcomed this move.

Reacting to PM Modi’s surprise anuncement about his intention to quit social media, NCP spokesperson and Maharashtra Mirity Affairs Minister Nawab Malik welcomed this move on Tuesday, March 3. He contended that country would become peaceful if some admirers of PM Modi exited social media. Furrmore, Malik opined that PM’s decision was in best interest of India.
On Twitter, Nawab Malik wrote, “Yesterday, Modiji gave indication that he is likely to leave social media. Some or leaders are also talking about leaving (social media). If some Bhakts leave social media, n country will become peaceful. Modiji’s decision must be in nation’s interest. We welcome it.”

PM Modi to give up social media accounts?
On Monday evening, PM Modi declared that he intends to give up his accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. Moreover, he stated that he would share more information about this soon. This evoked a series of reactions, especially from members of BJP. For instance, party spokesperson Nupur Sharma urged PM to reconsider his decision.

Many hashtags appealing to PM Modi to continue on social media were top trends on Twitter. Currently, he has 53.3 million followers on Twitter while his official Facebook p is liked by more than 44 million users. Moreover, he has 35.2 million followers on Instagram and his YouTube channel has more than 4.5 million subscribers.
