NCW Chief to send notice to Kamal Nath over 'item' jibe, will write to Election Commission
Reacting to the 'insult', NCW chief Rekha Sharma said that she will be sending Kamal Nath a notice and will also write to the Election Commission of India.

A video of senior Congress leer Kamal Nath using word "item", reportedly for a former woman colleague who switched over to BJP has created a furore, amid campaigning for bypolls scheduled for vember 3 in 28 Mhya Presh Assembly seats. Reacting to 'insult', National Commission for Women (NCW) chief Rekha Sharma on Monday said that she will be sending former Mhya Presh Chief Minister a tice and will also write to Election Commission of India.
dressing a poll meeting in Dabra, where Congress is up against Imarti Devi of BJP, Nath said that his party candidate was a "simple person" unlike his opponent who is an "item".

"Why should I take name (of opposing candidate)? You all kw that person better than me. What an item," Nath said amid cheers from crowd which kept shouting "Imarti Devi" as remarks were being me.
Shivraj hits back at Kamal Nath
Hitting back, MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan took to Twitter to say "Imarti Devi is daughter of a poor farmer" who rose to become a public servant after starting off as a vill labourer. By referring to a woman as "item", Congress and its and leership have revealed its "feudal mindset", Chouhan tweeted furr.

Later, a BJP delegation met Election Commission officials in Bhopal and complained against Nath for "insulting women and Dalits". Devi and 21 or MLAs loyal to Jyotiritya Scindia h resigned from Congress and state Assembly and joined BJP in March, in process bringing down Nath government. Counting of votes of by-polls will be held on vember 10.
