Opposition leaders to meet at residence of NCP leader Sharad Pawar tomorrow

An important meeting of Opposition leaders will be held at the residence of NCP leader Sharad Pawar residence in Delhi on Thursday, 23rd March.

An important meeting of Opposition leers will be held at residence of NCP leer Shar Pawar residence in Delhi, tomorrow, March 23. According to sources, Floor Leers of opposition parties in Rajya Sabha have been invited to meeting at residence of NCP leer. 

meeting, which will be held at residence of NCP chief Shar Pawar, will have all political parties who have doubts about efficacy of EVM. letter by NCP leer Shar Pawar to opposition leers, res, "In All Party Meeting convened by EC to discuss voting through Rural EVM, some of political parties raised very issue of voting through EVM."

Earlier in January 2023, as many as 11 opposition parties, including Congress, resolved to fight against what y called misuse of electronic voting machines (EVMs). 11 parties are Congress, CPIM, SP, BSP, CPI, NCP, TRS, RJD, RLD, Welfare Party and Swaraj India. Three resolutions were passed at a conference attended by se parties in Delhi.

According to reports, first resolution, out of three, was on EVM and VVPAT counting in which opposition leers said that it is recognised that purely EVM-based voting and counting does t comply with "democracy principles." y also went on to claim that voting machines can't be taken as tamper-proof. y also alleged that ruling BJP is misusing money power across India.

call for this meeting also comes in backdrop of consecutive failure of parliament to transact any business in second leg of budget session. second leg of parliament's budget session resumed on March 13, after a month-long break. ruling BJP and opposition led by Congress clashed with each or in a verbal spat and created obstructions in processing of both houses. 

While BJP leers continue to demand an apology from Congress MP Rahul Gandhi over his anti-India tire in UK, Congress and or opposition parties have locked horns to get a Joint-Parliamentary Committee (JPC) investigation into ani-Hindenburg issue.

parliament witnessed massive sloganeering by MPs of both BJP and opposition parties for over a week on same matter. On March 21, parliament was again journed amid massive disruptions by its members. Both houses of parliament are w scheduled to meet tomorrow, March 23, at 11 am.
