Senior BJP leader and Union Mirity Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Friday accused opposition parties of "conspiring to hijack peace" by "spreading lies and rumours" about Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

Attacking Congress and Samajwadi Party, Naqvi said that two political parties created fear among a particular section of society and conspired to hijack peace by spreading lies and rumours. Speaking at a press conference in Luckw, he also said that people have begun to understand political nda of se parties.

"We don't have any complaints or accusations against protesting youngsters and students. However, re are politically motivated protests which only have one nda that is 'Jhuthmeva Jayate' (lie will prevail)," BJP leader said.

" opposition parties knew y could t convince people on citizenship law, so y started confusing people. y are involved in a conspiracy to disturb communal harmony and unity of country," he added.

re have been major protests against CAA across country with some leaders even claiming y will t allow its implementation in ir states. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi alleged that Congress party and its allies were using students and youngsters to gain political mile.

Upon questioned about actor Deepika Padukone's 'Chhapaak' being boycotted through social media campaigns, Naqvi expressed willingness to watch movie. "If I get time I will also watch it," he said. 

Padukone had recently joined protest at JNU over recent violence that took place on campus which left about 30 students injured after masked goons entered varsity and attacked students and faculty with sticks and rods.

Anti-CAA protests driven by 'pirated propaganda'

Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Tuesday said ongoing protests against CAA were driven by "pirated propaganda" as legislation is for providing citizenship and t take it away. conspiracy by some people to disturb secular fabric and unity of country through philosophy of "Jhuthmev Jayate" will be defeated, Mirity Affairs Minister told reporters.

Appealing to students and youth, he said y should t get influenced by "evils of misinformation" and must become a part of effort to strengn communal harmony and unity of country.

" constitutional, religious and social rights of every Indian are absolutely safe," Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi affirmed. "re is threat or question mark over citizenship of any Indian due to CAA or any or legislation," he asserted.
