Opposition parties creating fear among farmers over new farm laws: Jitendra Singh

 Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Tuesday accused the opposition parties of taking up "imaginary issues to create a false fear" among farmers and trying to "mislead" them over the new farm reform laws.

 Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Tuesday accused opposition parties of taking up "imaginary issues to create a false fear" among farmers and trying to "mislead" m over new farm reform laws.

irony is that while common farmers are satisfied and have apprehension, it is some politically motivated interests which have kwledge or stake in farming that are attempting to make an issue out of it by trying to mislead farmers, he alleged.

"It is in interest of farming community of India and common people at large, that all like-minded people should come out and vociferously dispel disinformation and malicious campaign launched by self-seeking elements," said Singh, Minister of State for Personnel.

He launched a campaign from his Lok Sabha constituency of Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir in support of farm laws brought in by Narendra Modi government, and against "disinformation being spread by Congress".According to a Personnel Ministry statement, Singh addressed party workers, sarpanches and Block Development Council (BDC) chairmen from border vills and or areas of Kathua and Udhampur districts.

He said contract agreement, brought in through new agricultural laws, will be for crops and t for land, and alleged that farmers are being misled to believe orwise.

"Where is question of farmers' land being taken over by certain capitalists as is being alleged? law clearly states that agreement will be for crops and t for land, Singh posed.

Singh accused opposition of taking up "imaginary issues of contention" which do t find any reference in laws.

"For example, it is where mentioned that provision of minimum support price (MSP) will be done away with at any point of time, and yet Congress and some ors are trying to create false fears in minds of incent farmers," he said.

Singh appealed to his party colleagues to reach out to every farmer and explain to m " big conspiracy being hatched". This, he said, will enable agricultural community to avail of ermous welfare initiatives introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
