Congress, Trinamool Congress (TMC), Left parties, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and some ors have alrey given journment tices in Rajya Sabha for demanding immediate discussion on Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), National Population Register (NPR) and National Register of Citizens (NRC), y said.

Congress and some or opposition parties are set to give journment tices in Lok Sabha too, sources said. Opposition parties are demanding a discussion in both Houses on amended citizenship law, NPR and NRC, amid countrywide protests against m, y said.
opposition has termed CAA passed by Parliament as "unconstitutional" and have challenged same in Supreme Court which will hear matter later this month. opposition parties have also urged chief ministers of those states which have opposed CAA to t roll out NPR exercise.

Budget session of Parliament started on January 31 with President's dress to joint sitting of both Houses of Parliament and presentation on Union Budget on February 1. Both Houses are set to initiate discussion on 'motion of thanks' to President's dress starting Monday.
