Centre deployed more troops in Kashmir valley
After Centre's major move to deploy 10,000 paramilitary troops in the Kashmir valley, sources reported that additional 28,000 paramilitary personnel are being moved to the valley. Since Thursday troops are moving to the state and taking various positions in different states, say sources. Although political parties in the state has started fear mongering on the status of Article 35 A after troops deployment in the valley, centre has not said anything on scrapping of Article 35A, which defines permanent residents of the state and bars outsiders from purchasing and owning immovable property as the matter is sub-judice. The holy Amarnath pilgrimage is also suspended in the valley till August 4 in view of bad weather conditions. Army chief General Bipin Rawat arrived in Srinagar on Thursday to review the security preparations in Kashmir ahead of Independence Day celebrations.
