PM Modi appeals to farmers to end agitation against farm laws

PM Modi made a fervent appeal to protesters to end their agitation against the new farm laws even as he questioned opposition for their sudden "U-turn" on the reforms.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday made a fervent appeal to protesters to end ir agitation against new farm laws even as he questioned opposition parties for ir sudden "U-turn" on agriculture reforms.

Prime Minister also hit out at those behind protests, saying a new "breed" of agitators has emerged in country who cant live without an agitation and country should be beware of m.

He also said new FDI (Foreign Destructive Ideology) has emerged in country and "we need to be more aware to save country from such ideology".

Modi also stressed that India is very proud of contribution of Sikhs and langu used by some for m will t benefit country. He alleged that some people are also trying to defame Sikhs.

"This is a community that has done so much for nation. country takes pride in contribution of Sikhs, but some people are trying to defame m. words and blessings of Guru Sahibs are precious. langu used by some for m will t benefit country," he said, replying to Motion of Thanks on President's address in Rajya Sabha.

On farm sector and ongoing protest, Modi said, "MSP was re. MSP is re. MSP will remain in future. Affordable ration for poor will continue. Mandis will be modernised".

He quoted former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on need for reforms in farm sector and said Congress should take pride that Modi had to do what former Prime Minister wanted.

Modi said since 2014 his government has initiated changes in agriculture sector aimed at empowering farmer.
