PM Modi thanks Assam on BTC poll results, says 'NDA is committed to serving Northeast'

Congratulating ally UPPL & BJP's Assam unit, PM Modi wished them the best in fulfilling people's aspirations, adding that NDA was committed to serve the people.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday thanked people of rast for placing ir faith in National Democratic Alliance (NDA) after party mand to secure a majority along with alliance member United Peoples' Party Liberal (UPPL) and Gana Suraksha Party (GSP). Congratulating ally UPPL and BJP's Assam unit, PM Modi wished m best in fulfilling people's aspirations, ding that NDA was committed to serve people of rast. 

Earlier in day, Home Minister Amit Shah h also thanked people of Assam for ir 'continued faith' in PM Modi congratulating Assam CM Sarbananda Sowal, State minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and BJP State president Ranjeet Kumar Dass over party's stellar performance. BJP president JP Nda h also thanked people asserting that  BTC poll results show people's faith in leership and policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

BTC poll results 

Bodo Peoples' Front (BPF) - has emerged as single largest party with 17 seats, UPPL has won 12, saffron party 9 while GSP and Congress have bagged 1 seat each.  BJP has decided to join hands with United Peoples' Party Liberal (UPPL) and Gana Suraksha Party (GSP) to jointly form next Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC).  40-member new Council will be heed by UPPL Chief Promode Bodo.

BTC polls hold special prominence this year since y were held after a fresh Bodo Accord was signed in New Delhi on January 27 by leers of all four factions of National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB). polls cover four districts that fall under Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) namely Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa, and Udalguri.
