PM Modi, Union Ministers laud reforms in bureaucracy under 'Mission Karmayogi'

National Program for Civil Services Capacity Building — Mission Karmayogi — approved by Union Cabinet will rically improve human resource manment practices in Government and will use scale and state of art infrastructure to augment capacity of civil servants, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Wednesday.
Cabinet approved a key civil service reform in form of Mission Karmayogi which Union Minister Prakash Javekar termed “biggest” human resource development programme which will give bureaucrats opportunity to improve ir performance on a continuous basis.

Moreover, PM said iGOT platform will enable transition to a role-based HR manment and continuous learning. "Mission Karmayogi aims to prepare Civil Servants for future by making m more creative, constructive and invative through transparency and techlogy."
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah called it a "landmark reform for 21st century" which will end culture of working in silos and bring out new work culture. "Goal driven and constant training will empower and sensitize civil servants to ensure accountability and transparency in system," he furr said.

Textile Minister Smriti Irani said, "Mission Karmayogi’s focus on strengning competencies of civil servants will have a lasting effect on ministration. Giving impetus to ‘Roles-based’ HR Manment will bring out best in officials reby ensuring quality and efficacy of public services."

In a media briefing, Dr Jitendra Singh said Mission Karmayogi will go a long way in creating a new future-rey civil service for a New India. He said that it is an endeavor to incarnate civil services into a real Karmayogi who is creative, constructive, pro-active, and technically empowered to face future challenges.

Modi government has said Mission Karmayogi will create a new national infrastructure for civil services capacity building which will ultimately result in ease of living, ease of business, and citizen centricity.
This scheme has an outlay of Rs.500 crore over a period of 5 years. While PM’s HR Council (PMHRC) will provide strategic direction to capacity building reforms under chairmanship of Prime Minister, an expert body called Capacity Building Commission shall harmonise standard training standards.

On or hand, Cabinet Secretariat Coordination Unit would oversee plans. A Special Purpose Vehicle will own and operate online platform iGOT Karmayogi to facilitate world-class learning. Furrmore, SPV shall charge Rs 431 annual subscription per civil servant.
