Chinese President Xi Jinping is all set to visit India from October 11 to 12 for second informal summit with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In an official statement released by Ministry of External Affairs, it is stated that forthcoming Chennai Informal Summit "will provide an opportunity for two leers to continue ir discussions on overarching issues of bilateral, regional and global importance". two world leers will exchange views on deepening India-China Closer Development Partnership. Chinese President is visiting India for second informal summit at invitation of PM Modi. 

"At invitation of Prime Minister, President of People's Republic of China Xi Jinping will be visiting Chennai, India from October 11-12, 2019 for 2nd Informal Summit," MEA said in statement.  two leers h ir inaugural Informal Summit in Wuhan, China on 27-28 April 2018.

Preparations underway in Chennai

summit will be held in coastal town of Mamallapuram in Chennai. Ahe of crucial summit between PM Modi and Xi Jinping, preparations are on upswing in Mamallapuram. historic coastal town is witnessing a flurry of activity, including infrastructure development in view of high-level meet between leers of both countries. Reportedly, herit monuments, including Shore Temple, Five Rathas, Arjuna's Penance are being spruced up ahe of Chinese Premier's visit. Statues of Gautham Buddha and fighting bulls, a pointer to Tamil Nu's trition of 'Jallikattu" are among sculptures coming up at vant points at world herit site of Mamallapuram.

ancient Pallava town has been chosen for  Modi-Xi meeting keeping in mind that Mahabalipuram was once port way, which h connections with South East Asian countries like China that goes back to 7th to 9th century. It is also believed that emperors before Pallavas also h tre deals with ancient China which ds significance to destination of meeting.

Over 100 workers have been toiling to clean monuments and give it a fresh look without causing any dam, strictly toeing all rms to protect m. Security has been beefed up in area with around 2,000 policemen alrey on duty, and ditional 5,000+ policemen to be deployed when leers will visit town.
