PM Narendra Modi congratulates people of Himachal Pradesh on 50th Full Statehood Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter on Saturday and conveyed his greetings to the people of Himachal Pradesh on the occasion of 50th Full Statehood Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday took to his official Twitter handle and conveyed his greetings to people of Himachal Presh on occasion of its 50th Full Statehood Day. 

In his tweet, Prime Minister spoke about Himachal Presh's rich history, cultural herit, and natural scenic beauty. PM Modi also hoped that state would set 'new standards of development and continue to d its valuable contribution to prosperity of country.

Chief Minister Jairam Thakur also responded to Prime Minister's Tweet and expressed his gratitude on behalf of people of Himachal Presh.

CM Jairam Thakur conveys greetings to people of 'Devbhoomi'

Earlier in day, Himachal Presh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur took to Twitter and released a video mess for people of Himachal Presh on 50th Full Statehood Day. In his video mess, chief minister spoke about growth and development of sate and how Himachal Presh has grown in last 50 years.

50 Years of Himachal Presh

After being a Union Territory for over 15 years, Himachal Presh received full statehood tag on January 25, 1971. It is interesting to te that  Legislative Assembly of Himachal Presh has history prior to formation of Constitution. State came into existence after India received independence from British rule. Himachal Presh became a centrally ministered territory on 15 April 1948. It was formed as an integration of thirty erstwhile princely states.
