NDA constituent PMK on Thursday welcomed Bihar Assembly opting an anti-NRC resolution and lauded Tamil Nu government for saying such a move was under its consideration too. Party founder S Ramoss called for implementing National Population Register as per 2010 format, even as he wanted government to "allay fears" over NPR.

In a series of tweets, he urged Tamil Nu government to take a leaf out of Bihar and pass an assembly resolution saying to National Register of Citizens (NRC). "Tamil Nu should follow Bihar and opt a resolution against NRC in Assembly. Similarly, NPR should also be as per 2010 format," he said.

Bihar assembly on Tuesday unanimously resolved that re was need of NRC in state and that NPR exercise be done strictly according to 2010 format. On Wednesday, Tamil Nu Chief Minister K Palaniswami h said aspects like an anti-NRC assembly resolution were under consideration of state government.

Terming Palaniswami's statement as "right approach," Ramoss also said " government should allay" fears over NPR.
 He also pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi h said NRC was being implemented only in Assam and welcomed it.
