Condemning Parayanapura incident, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralh Joshi on Monday said that strict action has to be taken against perpetrators. Violence broke out at Parayanapura ward in Bengaluru on Sunday evening when a group of people went on a ramp, destroying barrices and pandals and allegedly even attacking ASHA workers re.
Speaking to ANI, Joshi said that state government has asked DGP to take this incident very seriously and ded that such incidents shouldn't be tolerated. Joshi furr said re is a report that some people in that area have done this to cover up ir illegal activities.

"It is most unfortunate and highly condemnable. Some people are instigating se things. Government of Karnataka has asked DGP to take this incident very seriously I h discussion with state home minister too. This of incident cant be tolerated," Joshi told ANI.
"Some Congress party MLA's are giving statements that y were incent. While taking Ahar card and ration card, y are t illiterate. When matter comes about quarantine, Congress leers say accused people are incent and illiterate. Very strict action has to be taken against se culprits. Those people also need to be identified and brought under book," minister ded.

Earlier, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa said that full security will be provided to ASHA workers and or officials on COVID-19 duty and Police Commissioner has been tified about same.
Speaking exclusively to Republic TV, Yediyurappa said, "We have taken action. We have arrested 54 people till w and more will be arrested. We will t tolerate such s of atrocities on officials and we have also taken a few precautionary measures. We will teach m a lesson."

incident occurred in late evening on Sunday at Parayanapura which is recognized as a 'Red Zone' when BBMP officials and ASHA workers went to bring 15 secondary contacts of corona positive patients. However, some people and youth created ruckus and broke barrices and removed police post which was stalled in area. Soon after receiving information, Bengaluru South Deputy Commissioner of Police reached spot and brought situation under control.
In Karnataka, 390 people have been diagsed with COVID-19, of which 16 people have succumbed to infection, as per Union Health Ministry.
