On Saturday, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Vadra raised multiple questions over ‘Namaste Trump’ event. Claiming that Rs.100 crore was being spent on function, she reckoned that it was being funneled through Donald Trump Nagrik Abhinandan Samiti, organizer. Moreover, she alleged that re was total confusion over identity of members of committee. reafter, Vadra claimed that re was a lack of transparency on wher money had been allocated by different Central government ministries to committee.
Priyanka Vadra tweeted, “Rs.100 crore is being spent on arrival of US President Donald Trump. But this money is being spent via a Committee. members of Committee mselves don’t kw that y are members of such a committee. Does country t have a right to kw that which Ministry has given how much money to committee? What is government hiding in garb of committee?”

Donald Trump Nagrik Abhinandan Samiti holds meeting
present debate was sparked off by MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar’s revelation that ‘Namaste Trump’ event was being organised by Donald Trump Nagrik Abhinandan Samiti. Both US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a crowd of more than one lakh people as part of event. As per reports, Ahmedabad mayor Bijal Patel is chairperson of Committee. Earlier in day, Donald Trump Nagrik Abhinandan Samiti held a meeting in Ahmedabad.

'Namaste Trump' event
'Namaste Trump' event has been designed on lines of 'Howdy, Modi!' organised in Houston last year. A huge st is being set up at centre of Motera stadium that would have speeches of PM Narendra Modi and US President. Around st would be VVIP seating for Trump delegation, top diplomats, Indian Ministers, as also Gujarat Cabinet. BJP Gujarat unit and as many as 72 or social organizations have been tasked with bringing people to fill stadium, as also line roads that Trump carcade would take from Ahmedabad Airport to Sabarmati Ashram and Motera stadium.
