To counter farm laws that were passed by Parliament, Punjab government on Tuesday moved a resolution against controversial reforms in state assembly. Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh said in his speech that Centre is doing injustice to farmers of Punjab, Haryana and rest of nation.

Captain Amarinder Singh moved a resolution in state assembly against  Centre’s agriculture legislations and Electricity Amendment Bill 2020. He asked  Modi government to annul all three farm laws and Bill.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister introduced fresh bills - Farmers Produce Tre And Commerce (Promotion And Facilitation) Special Provisions And Punjab Amendment Bill, 2020, Essential Commodities (Special Provisions And Punjab Amendment) Bill, 2020 And Farmers (Empowerment And Protection) Agreement On Price Assurance And Farm Services (Special Provisions And Punjab Amendment) Bill, 2020.

AAP MLAs st overnight protest

On or side, MLAs of Aam Ami Party std an overnight protest seeking copy of bills to discuss in legislative assembly. MLAs stayed inside Vidhan Sabha building demanding for Congress government to share a draft of proposed bill. AAP also alleged that Punjab Govt is hand in glove with Centre, that is why it is t providing copies to MLAs.

Even S MLAs said that keeping m a secret raises doubt regarding proposed legislation. Bikram Majithia said if Punjab government is moving bills for farmers, y should give m copies before putting on floor so that all political parties can express ir views on same. But t giving bill copies reveals that Congress is trying to man issue on its own.

Meanwhile, farmer unions in Punjab have been agitating on railway tracks for days. y also went through  content of bills introduced by state. Farm unions have said that once bill is passed by Punjab legislative assembly, y accordingly take call on lifting protest.
