Punjab CM Amarinder Singh asks Centre to either repeal or amend 'anti-farm laws'

Urging the Centre to listen to their demands, the Congress leader asked the government to either repeal or amend the "anti-farmer laws"

Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh launched a fresh attack at Centre over Farm Laws. Sharing a 4-minute video of farmers protests in Punjab, Amarinder Singh highlighted contribution of Punjabis saying that y t only sacrificed ir lives at borders but also worked hard in fields to feed nation. Urging Centre to listen to ir demands, Congress leer asked government to eir repeal or amend "anti-farmer laws".

Earlier, Amarinder Singh h anunced that his government would pass eir a resolution or a Bill in state assembly to prevent Farm Laws from being implemented in state so as to counter ir “dangerous impact”.

On October 7, Congress leer Rahul Gandhi launched a bizarre attack at Centre over Farm Laws, claiming that Farm bills would 'end ros'. "Narendra Modi says farmers can sell ir produce anywhere w. When re won't be ros n where will farmers go? Ros were built using mandi tax, and y've ended mandi tax, meaning you have ended ros," said former Congress President.

What are farm laws? 

Farmers' Produce Tre and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020 aims at freeing  farmers from constraints of state Agriculture Produce Market Committees whereby y would be able to sell ir produce anywhere. On or hand,  Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020 protects and empowers farmers to eng with processors, wholesalers, large retailers, exporters for farm services.  aforesaid bills were introduced by Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar to replace ordinances promulgated on June 5.  opposition has alleged that bills will benefit only big farmers and corporates.
