Punjab CM urges farmers to ease 'Rail Roko', blames Centre's 'arrogance' for power crisis
Punjab CM Amarinder Singh requested the farmers to ease 'Rail Roko' while accusing the Centre of failing to resolve the conflict which led to power crisis

Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh requested farmer's unions to ease 'Rail Roko' agitation on Thursday while accusing Union government of failing to resolve farm laws conflict which led to Brar Power Crisis. He also stated that power crisis was a result of Centre's 'arrogant and callous' attitude towards farmer unions. As per official statement, massive power short occurred as rail blockes severely impacted supply of coal in state due to which two power units h to be shut down as well.
"While three of my cabinet colleagues were in discussion with farmer unions to persue m to lift rail blocke, which h led to serious coal short in state, it was duty of Union Government to eng with m. Two power units at Lehra Mohabat and a unit of GVK in Taran Taran have alrey been shut down, and state is staring at a massive power short," said CM Capt Amarinder Singh.

Punjab CM: Allow essential supply
Following power crisis, Amarinder Singh also requested farmer bodies to lift 'Rail Roko' blockes to allow movement of essential goods. He furr ded that re is a short of diesel as well which is a serious problem. During live session of 18th edition of #AskCaptain, he also spoke about short of urea, coal and need to urgently move foodgrains from godowns which were postponed due to 'Rail Roko' agitation.

Talking about short Punjab CM said, "re is a suggestion that state should purchase power from central grid but where is money? state government is providing free power to farmers and is facing a serious short of diesel too. We need to seriously think about se problems."

Calling farm laws 'malicious', he informed people of his decision to convene a special Vidhan Sabha session on October 19. He also stated that lawyers will be consulted to fight against 'black farm laws'. In his previous tweet on October 14, he claimed that Centre ded 'salt to wounds of farmers' while ding that it exposed ir 'malice & ill-intent towards farmers'.
