Punjab Government to bring White Paper on PPAs signed by the previous Akali Government
Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh announced that his government will bring out a White Paper, to expose the fraud committed by the Akalis on PPAs.

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Thursday anunced that his government will bring out a White Paper, in monsoon session of state Assembly, to expose fraud committed by Akalis with regard to controversial Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with private players. White Paper will reveal all documents signed by previous S-BJP government in state, as well as power plants set up by m, which h allegedly caused an undue burden on state, Chief Minister told media persons. Chief Minister was engaging in an informal chat with media after Goverr’s dress on first day of two-day special session of Assembly.

Akalis were slippery characters, said Captain Amarinder, ding that after messing with state’s ecomy through various destructive measures, including PPAs, Shiromani Akali Dal (S) was trying to use issue against his government to promote ir vested political interests.
Chief Minister pointed out that his government h won case on issue in lower court but Supreme Court decisions went against m. state government was fighting case w in apex court, he ded. He himself h sat on a dharna against an India Bulls plant when in Opposition, recalled Captain Amarinder.
n Akali government h got Gidderbaha NTPC power project canceled to sign an MoU with India Bulls for setting up plant, going against prevailing practice of inviting global tenders for power projects and also forcibly evicting farmers from ir land in Gobindpura for controversial project. Chief Minister asserted that his government was committed to protecting interests of Punjab and its people, and will ensure that thing detrimental to m is done.

Punjab CM on resolution against CAA
When asked if government will bring in a resolution against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), on lines of Kerala, Chief Minister’s response was ‘wait till tomorrow’. government, it may be recalled, h earlier anunced its decision to go by will of House on way forward on issue of CAA, as well as National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR). Captain Amarinder government has alrey rejected se as unconstitutional and divisive.
