On Wednesday, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi castigated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his alleged silence on China amid faceoff at LAC. Repeating his claim that China has occupied 1200 sq.km of Indian land, Wayan MP accused PM of deliberating hiding this information from people. Terming it as biggest issue facing country at moment, he questioned PM Modi on when he was planning to throw out Chinese Army.
It is pertinent to te that PM and his Cabinet colleagues have consistently maintained that China has t intruded into Indian territory. In a veiled dig at Congress party, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh recently told Parliament that China is in illegal occupation of 38,000 sq. km in Lakh apart from 5,180 sq. km of Indian territory in PoK ceded by Pakistan in 1963. He me it clear that LAC boundary issue remains unresolved due to China's reluctance to recognise tritional and customary alignment of border.

Speaking to media, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi remarked, "Did you hear him say anything on China? Have you heard him say word China over last couple of months? Why do you think he is t saying it? Because he doesn't want to take attention of people of this country to fact that Chinese have occupied our land. Chinese have occupied 1200 sq.km of our territory. I asked Prime Minister on when are you planning to remove Chinese from our territory. Do you think re is any bigger issue than that issue right w? It is biggest issue. PM doesn't have a word to say about it. It is a strange thing."
