Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took a subtle quip on President and Prime Minister of India getting "unfollowed" by White House on Twitter saying he is "dismayed" by move. official Twitter handle of White House (@WhiteHouse) has unfollowed verified handles of President Ram Nath Kovind (@rashtrapatibhvn) and Prime Minister's Office (@PMOIndia).

According to media reports, White House previously followed  personal Twitter handles of PM Narendra Modi, his office (PMO), President Ram Nath Kovind as well as Indian embassy in Washington DC (@IndianEmbassyUS). With unfollowing, White House w follows just 13 accounts, all American individuals or American institutions. Even President Donald Trump's personal account longer follows PM Modi.

Indo-US ties

Recently, ties between India and US has seen hickups over issues related to supply of Hydroxychloroquine. President Donald Trump had hinted to "retaliate" after India imposed curbs on exports of anti-malarial drug following claims that HCQ can be used asa deterrent against COVID-19.
