Rahul to sound Congress poll bugle in Telangana on July 2 ahead of assembly elections

Congress leer Rahul Gandhi would sound poll bugle of party for coming Assembly elections in Telangana by dressing a public meeting at Khammam on Sunday. Congress State Legislature Party (CLP) leer Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka's 'payatra' would also conclude at rally.

Gandhi would felicitate Vikramarka, who began his foot march near ilab, covering 1,360 km in 108 days as on Saturday, party sources said.

At meeting, former Khammam MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy would formally join Congress.

Srinivas Reddy and ex-minister Jupally Krishna Rao recently anunced ir decision to join party.

victory of Congress in recent Karnataka elections has given a boost to party unit in neighbouring Telangana.

Telangana Presh Congress Committee (TPCC) president and MP A Revanth Reddy has said party would end BRS rule in state with rally in Khammam.

Reddy said Congress would sound bugle for elections with Khammam rally and expressed confidence that meeting would be attended by more people compared to public meet organised earlier by ruling BRS in town.

Aiming to win Assembly polls scheduled to be held later this year in Telangana, Congress is making elaborate arrangements to make rally being attended by Gandhi, a huge success.

BJP h won two assembly bypolls and came up with good performance in Greater Hyderab Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections during last couple of years posing a threat of occupying main opposition held by Congress.

Congress has been major opposition party in Telangana since state formation in 2014.
