Raj Thackeray questions rationale of CAA, accuses BJP of deflecting attention from economy

Breaking his silence on CAA, MNS chief Raj Thackeray on Saturday stated that it was a ploy to distract the attention from the economic crisis in the country.

Breaking his silence on Citizenship Amendment Act, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray on Saturday, December 21, stated that it was a ploy to distract attention from ecomic crisis in country. Maintaining that re was a lot of confusion regarding law, he claimed that government h deemed Ahaar as an inmissible document to prove citizenship. Moreover, he questioned need to give citizenship to more people from abro at a time when India was facing a lot of challenges due to population explosion.

Raj Thackeray remarked, “First, I want to thank Amit Shah for, he has diverted attention of nation from ecomic slowdown via this Act. re is so much confusion in laws that we are witnessing. w y have said that Ahaar card cant prove citizenship. If it can be used for voting, n why can’t it be used to prove citizenship? n, what was use of making people queue up for Ahaar card?"

He ded, "re are two parts to this. One, citizens from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Banglesh barring for Muslims can come to India. But does a country of 135 crore require more people? We are t able to cater to people who are alrey here. Due to burgeoning population, all our systems have collapsed. What is need to take in anyone irrespective of religion?”

'India is t a sanctuary' 

MNS supremo asserted that re was need for any Indian citizen irrespective of religion to feel insecure. At same time, he contended that India was t a sanctuary for all refugees in world. Furrmore, he agreed that Pakistani and Bangleshi immigrants did t deserve a place in India.

“re is need for Muslims who have been living in India for generations to feel insecure. It is necessary to examine how many Indian Muslims, Bangleshi Muslims, and Pakistani Muslims are participating in se protests? India is t a sanctuary for everyone to be resettled here. I have said this in my speeches before that Pakistani and Bangleshi Muslims should be thrown out of country,” Thackeray opined.
