Member of the Jaipur Royal family and the grand-daughter of Man Singh, Diya Kumari filed her nomination from Vidyadhar assembly constituency on November 1.
At 8:15 am, Diya Kumari started a roadshow from her residence to the Collectorate showcasing strength with 250 vehicles in her cavalcade and several bulldozers showering petals on her. The bulldozers were leading the cavalcade sending out a message to deliver stringent action against miscreants if the BJP comes to power.
Diya Kumari carried out rally with a huge crowd of supporters following the cavalcade. Republic exclusively spoke to Diya Kumari who spoke about her roadshow, its symbolism and revealed her plans for the future.
Q. Bulldozers are leading your cavalcade, what does this mean?
A- This clearly means that bulldozers now will revive the stalled law and order situation in Rajasthan when BJP comes in power. During Samajwadi and BSP tenure in UP, we have seen that gangsters were ruling the state but after Yogi Ji's rule, all gangsters are behind bars or have fled from UP.
Stringent steps need to be taken to maintain law and order in Rajasthan as well because the Gehlot government has failed immensely in maintaining law and order in Rajasthan. Every day there is a news of crime against women and Rajasthan tops in that. The survey of National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) also states that.
Bulldozer is our campaign star, this is what Rajasthan needs right now. Bulldozer action against criminals and gangsters who are hiding under the nose of Gehlot government. This government safeguards criminals and have ignored the safety and demands of the youth.
Q. Many supporters today were sloganeering “Rajasthan ki CM Diya Kumari. What significance does this have?
A- I am elated to know this, however, I heard it during my roadshow this morning. My supporters are my strength and I have a connection with them.
I have worked as an MLA and MP both and have learnt a lot from my voters. I have accomplished a lot from Sawai madhopur to Rajsamand because of my voters. Final decision on CM face will be taken by our Seniors in Delhi.
I don't have any high hopes. Firstly, our full focus is on elections and later after the party wins, the probable faces will be discussed. But briefly I would say I am delighted that my supporters have belief in me that I can be the CM.
Q. What issues are you focussing on?
A- So, to begin with, our topmost issue is women safety and building a safe environment. In Vidyadhar, a college for girls will be built (as) a medical college is needed.
Clean drinking water, better amenities for the public, roads will be constructed and several local issues prevail in this constituency and I will work for the interest of citizens of Vidyadhar.
My commitment is towards delivering schemes and I will work on that. I am assured of my win and BJP will also win by a huge margin.
Q. Several leaders are calling you the "replacement" of Vasundhara Raje Scindia, what's your response to this?
A - I am not the replacement of any leader and I would not like to comment on such statements because it's irrelevant. I don't know why such comparisons are being made. I agree that I might be in the race for CM if BJP is voted to power.
I have my own identity and individuality. Moreover, I have come this far because of my hard work. Many are in the delusion that it's because of my erstwhile royal family. I have supporters who believe in me and I can myself claim for CM position if I gather humongous support inside and outside the party.
