Rajinikanth 'pained' by insistence of fans, reaffirms he'll never take political plunge

Kollywood superstar Rajinikanth reaffirmed his decision to t take political plunge and appealed to his fans to maintain calm after his followers std a protest at Valluvar Thottam on Sunday against his move to t enter politics. A large number of fans gared at Valluvar Thootam in Chennai on Sunday to protest against Rajinikanth's decision and to appeal to ir 'Thalaivar' to take political plunge. Issuing his first response after protests, superstar Rajinikanth thanked his fans for organizing protest peacefully but categorically stated that he h me up his mind to t enter politics at present.

Despite a warning from Rajini Makkal Mandram (RMM) asking ir cre to t participate in protests in Chennai, Rajinikanth fans flocked to Valluvar Thottam to participate in protests. Penning a letter to his fans, Rajinikanth said that he was hurt by move of his fans to protest despite him making decision to t take political plunge citing health issues. Furr, Rajinikanth said that certain members who were ousted from positions in RMM along with current office-bearers participated in protests aimed at urging Rajinikanth to reconsider his decision and termed ir disobedience as 'painful'. Kollywood megastar appealed to his fans to t torment him to take political plunge and affirmed that his decision was final.

"To fans who are gods who make me live, some people have held a show in Chennai, along with many ors who have been removed from post of Rajini Makkal Mandram (RMM) and removed from office, to reconsider why I did t come to politics. My compliments for treating me with restraint and dignity. However, it is painful to disobey orders of leership. My heartfelt thanks to people who accepted leership's request and did t attend event. I have alrey explained in detail reasons why I cant come to politics w. I have stated my decision. I humbly ask that one should come to me even after this and that one should torment me furr by holding events like this. Long live Tamil people! Tamil Nu to develop !! Jai Hind !!! Sincerely", Rajinikanth wrote in his letter dressed to his followers.

Superstar Rajinikanth took his fans by surprise after he anunced his decision to t take political plunge on December 29 citing health concerns. Kollywood megastar was scheduled to anunce launch of his party on December 31 and his party on January subsequently; however, he withdrew from political race months ahe of Tamil Nu Assembly elections. Rajinikanth indicated he did t want to sound chivalrous by saying he will join politics despite his severe health concerns and that he did t want to "make a victim" of his supporters w. "refore, I inform with great regret I am unable to come to politics by floating a political party. Only I kw pain behind making this anuncement," 70-year-old actor said.
