Punjab: SAD leaders to donate one month's salary for CM relief fund to combat COVID-19

Amid ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, Shiromani Akali Dal (S) legislators on Monday declared that y will donate ir one month salary to Chief Minister's relief fund to assist Punjab government in providing proper treatment and assistance to Coronavirus patients as well as take preventive steps to contain spre of virus.
Releasing a statement, party stated that decision was taken after S President Sukhbir Singh Bal met with party's legislators and parliamentarians.

"Following a suggestion by S president to le relief effort, all party MPs and legislators unanimously agreed to donate one month's salary for this ble cause," release said.
S President Bal also appealed to all party leers and workers to contribute ir might to combat this dely outbreak. "se are challenging times for humanity. We need to keep ourselves safe, but also come to rescue of those who are suffering from COVID-19. Let us contribute in this effort to save our fellow brethren in whatever way possible," said Jangveer Singh, media visor to S president.

S Prez urges S district presidents to assist district ministration
Sukhbir Singh Bal also urged S district presidents to assist district ministration in this task besides reaching out to doctors and patients in hospitals by providing m masks, ventilators, and medicines or simply by ensuring free 'langar' service to needy.

He also appreciated efforts of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) to set aside for quarantine facilities in various 'serais'. Bal also informed about SGPC initiating 'langar Sewa' to multiple district hospitals. process was being streamlined and hospitals would also soon be able to approach gurdwaras in ir area for 'langar Sewa' as per ir requirement, Bal ted.
Earlier on Sunday, S President and Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Bal appealed to all MPs to release ir MPL funds needed by hospitals for purchase of medical equipments to fight against coronavirus.

COVID-19 cases rise in India
In India, over 420 confirmed cases of virus have been reported. Along with it, seven deaths have been reported until w. Multiple states across country have taken up measures to contain spre of virus and have ordered a complete lockdown at least till March 31, with an extension likely.

Numerous states have anunced lockdowns till at least March 31, suspending all public transport services and n-essential services. state governments were vised to issue appropriate orders to allow only essential services to operate in 75 districts which have reported confirmed cases or casualties relating to COVID 19.
