The Samajwadi Party (SP) has launched a fresh attack on the Uttar Pradesh government, alleging a scam involving more than Rs 400 crore within the state's Medical Education Department. The SP shared a media report on Monday, bringing attention to what they claim is a major irregularity within the government's Medical Education Department.
The Akhilesh Yadav-led party alleged that the department executed a scam exceeding Rs 400 crore in procuring of furniture and medical equipment for 14 medical colleges constructed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. In a tweet from their official handle, the SP stated, "Another mega scam in Yogi government!" The party claimed that contracts for the procurement of furniture and medical equipment for these 14 medical colleges were purportedly granted without following established rules.
"Contracts for the purchase of furniture and medical equipment for 14 medical colleges being built under the PPP model were given by ignoring the rules," the party tweeted, deeming the alleged irregularities as "shameful."
The SP questioned the government's response to these allegations, seeking accountability and action. They asked, "When will the Chief Minister break his silence on this scam? When will action be taken against the culprits?" It's important to remember that these claims remain allegations until substantiated.
According to media report, it is alleged that contracts worth over Rs 400 crore related to the procurement of furniture and medical equipment were executed without proper adherence to established rules and regulations. As of now, the government has not issued an official response to these allegations.
