Slamming AIMIM chief Asuddin Owaisi, Indian revolutionary Vinayak Damodar Savarkar's grandson Ranjeet, on Friday, said that AIMIM chief should follow Savarkar's belief of keeping religion private. He said once a person was in public, one was Indian rar than a Hindu and Muslim. He ded that Savarkar h expected all who enter Parliament to keep caste, religion, sex etc out. He also claimed that Savarkar was most secular man.

Owaisi slams Bharat Ratna push
Earlier on Tuesday, Owaisi h slammed BJP's poll promise of awarding Savarkar with Bharat Ratna citing six statements about late freedom fighter. He said that Savarkar h been implicated by Jeevan Lal Commission on Gandhi's assassination. He also stated that Savarkar called himself British's 'most obedient servant'. He also pointed out that Savarkar supported two-nation ory and looked up to Hitler, blaming Jews for Holocaust.

BJP's manifesto promises Bharat Ratna for Veer Savarkar
In BJP's Maharashtra manifesto, saffron party me a pitch for houring Swatantraveer Savarakar with Bharat Ratna - highest civilian hour awarded to Indians. It also pushed for Bharat Ratna for educational reformers Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule. BJP released its poll manifesto ahe of Oct 21 poll date in presence of CM Devendra Fnavis and party working president J P Nda in Mumbai. Manifesto is titled - 'Sampanna, Samruddha, Samarth Maharashtra.'

About Veer Savarkar
Vinayak Damodar Savarkar who is also kwn as Veer Savarkar was an Indian Independence fighter, politician, lawyer and formulator of 'Hindutva' philosophy. He founded Abhinav Bharat Society, which wrote extensively on Indian Independence movement. He was later arrested and sentenced for revolutionary activities to two life terms of imprisonment totalling fifty years and was moved to Cellular Jail in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. He was later released in 1921.
