SCOOP: Former Foreign Secretary Subrahmanyam Jaishankar likely to join the new Modi cabinet

Adding yet another name to the probable members of the Modi Cabinet 2.0, former Foreign Secretary of India Subrahmanyam Jaishankar has reportedly been tapped to join the cabinet.

Adding yet another name to the probable members of the Modi Cabinet 2.0, former Foreign Secretary of India Subrahmanyam Jaishankar has reportedly been tapped to join the cabinet.

Jaishankar, who joined the Indian Foreign Services (IFS) in 1977, has previously served as Indian Ambassador to multiple countries, the High Commissioner to Singapore before retiring and joining the conglomerate -Tata Sons as President, Global Corporate Affairs in 2018. He was also awarded the fourth highest civilian honour - the Padma Shri in 2019.

This news followed minutes after BJP's Gujarat Chief Jitu Vaghani created a stir confirming BJP Chief Amit Shah's inclusion into the new cabinet tweeting:

"Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, I met and congratulated our visionary and guide Amit Shah for being a part of the central cabinet."

In the past two days before the swearing-in of the Prime Minister, BJP chief Amit Shah met Narendra Modi several times and held meetings as long as for six hours to decide the formation of the Modi's upcoming cabinet.

Here's The Prospective List Of NDA Leaders Who Have Received Calls From BJP Chief Amit Shah Ahead Of The Modi Cabinet's Swearing-in

Apart from Shah himself, a number of NDA members have received calls to join the meeting at the Prime Minister's residence where the Cabinet Ministers will reportedly be decided.

Prime Minister Modi will take the oath for the post at 7 in the evening on May 30. Preparations are underway in the Rashtrapati Bhavan to welcome 8000 guests including foreign dignitaries. A highest ever 8,000 guests, including VVIPs, will attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his council of ministers Thursday. Apart from the BIMSTEC country leaders, who's who of the sports and film fraternity will also attend Prime Minister's swearing-in. 

As the day began Narendra Modi paid his tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajgath, to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Sadaiv Atal Samadhi, and to the martyrs at National War Memorial in New Delhi.
