Social Democratic Party of India(SDPI) alleged that BJP government and opposition party Congress made ir party a scapegoat in DJ Halli and KG Halli riots in Bengaluru and demanded a judicial inquiry into incident. Addressing a press meet in Bengaluru, SDPI State President Elyas Muhammad Thumbe said, “y made scapegoats of SDPI because y want to hush up failure of government and Congress’ involvement in riots. This is also to divert minds of people and hush up total conspiracy of incident and drag us into incident. We have concrete proof of statement of Congress MLA Akand Srinivas alleging that his rivals in Congress party have devised this ploy to stoke violence in DJ Halli case. rivalry between Sampath Raj and Srinivas is quite evident and police are also aware of that. y are tarnishing our name though re is scant presence of our workers in that constituency. Congress gets lakhs of votes in that constituency.”

“Judicial inquiry will reveal all angles, re are so many angles. When a judicial inquiry is ordered, we will expose all evidence, whatever evidence we have, we will submit it to m. re is also BJP’s involvement. Congress factionism, Congress Rivalry, and Congress Rowdyism, everything should be probed. re is question of mistrust of police, y are very good people. Police sometimes will work under pressure of government. That is history in our state. Even if re are eugh facts in case, y might change it for benefit of state government,” Elyas added.

Former Prime Minister HD Devegowda in a press release had also demanded a judicial probe in violence. "An inquiry has to be conducted by a sitting high court judge regarding riots in DJ Halli and KG Halli, I don't kw about internal politics of Congress in this riot, I don't want to comment about that. Magistrate inquiry will t bring out truth, we kw what has happened during previous incidents. More than 300 people have been arrested in connection with incident, but I still say, incents should t be troubled and government has to think about it.”

On 19th of August, opposition party leader Siddaramaiah also demanded a judicial inquiry into violence at Devara Jeevanahalli and Kadugondanahalli by writing a letter to Karnataka Chief Minister Yediyurappa, claiming it was an outcome of “failure” of government and Intelligence department. If government cant protect an MLA and police station n how can it protect people of state?

Former PM  Devegowda states that magistrate inquiry will t bring out truth. But Ashwath Narayan said, “It was Deve Gowda’s opinion but our decision is to have a magistrate probe. Everybody is part of system, everybody is discharging duty with proof and evidence. re is biased inquiry, it is done keeping in mind interest of people. As early as possible facts and reports should come out. This is common with opposition to criticize people who are holding position.”

Along with magistrate inquiry, even Central Crime Branch is doing a parallel inquiry into case.
