Shaheen Bagh protesters send legal notice to Amit Malviya,demand apology & 1 cr as damages
Two women- Nafisa Bano and Shahzad Fatma protesting in Shaheen Bagh, Delhi against the CAA have sent a defamation notice to BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya.

Even as protests against Citizenship Amendment Act continue at Shaheen Bagh for 36th consecutive day, two women- Nafisa Bano and Shahz Fatma have sent a defamation notice to BJP IT cell he Amit Malviya. This is in context of a video shared by Malviya which claims that Shaheen Bagh protesters were being paid Rs.500 per day. In legal notice, Rs.1 crore in damages and an apology have been sought as it has been alleged that Malviya’s actions constitute an offence of defamation.

Details of notice
notice observes that Malviya’s statement of protesters being paid was false and could have a negative impact on national and international community. Mentioning that protesters were drawing attention of a large number of people on critical issues, women alleged that Malviya h “played a fraud” on people. Moreover, y accused BJP IT cell chief of casting aspersions on motive of protesters. ditionally, notice claims that Malviya h a “vested interest” in defaming Shaheen Bagh protesters as he belonged to ruling party in Centre.

Delhi police issues appeal
Meanwhile, Delhi police on Monday appealed to Shaheen Bagh protesters to clear Ro No.13A once again. Revealing that many complaints h been received about children facing difficulty in reaching ir schools, police said that parents were anxious because of upcoming Board examinations. Furrmore, it observed that daily commuters and local residents were also being inconvenienced due to protests.
