Shinde Appoints Shiv Sena Colleagues on Key Positions, Ahead of Maharashtra Polls

Mumbai: In an effort to dress possible dissent within ruling Shiv Sena ahe of upcoming assembly elections, Eknath Shinde -led government took a strategic step on Monday by appointing former MP Anandrao sul and party MLA Sanjay Shirsat to influential positions.
Sanjay Shirsat has been named chairman of City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), a prominent and financially significant state government entity. This appointment comes after Shirsat, who h previously expressed frustration over not receiving a cabinet position, was vocal about his dissatisfaction.

According to an order issued by Urban Development Department, heed by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde , Cidco chairman's post is equivalent to cabinet rank.

Shinde also appointed his party colleague and former MP Anandrao sul as chairman of Maharashtra State Scheduled Caste and Tribes Commission.

A government order issued on Monday stated that tenure of appointment would be for next one-and-a-half years or till next government order is out.
