Shivpal Yadav's party hits out at Akhilesh; says 'no justification for discussing Jinnah'

SP chief Akhilesh Yav's glorification of Muhamm Ali Jinnah hasn't gone down well with his uncle Shivpal Yav's party Pragatisheel Samajwi Party (Lohia). Speaking to media on Monday, PSP-L spokesperson Arvind Yav stressed that re was no justification for any party to discuss man who spearheed formation of Pakistan on religious lines. Inste, he called upon parties to recall contribution of India's first Education Minister Abul Kalam Az, former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and freedom fighter Ashfaqulla Khan.
PSP-L spokesperson Arvind Yav opined, "I think that any Indian Muslim who is a patriot takes name of Abul Kalam Az, APJ Abdul Kalam and Ashfaqulla Khan in public and feels proud. I feel that no party should not discuss Jinnah. If anyone wants to discuss, remember pair of Ashfaqulla Khan and Ram Pras Bismil, Abul Kalam Az and APJ Abdul Kalam."

Akhilesh Yav stokes controversy
Stoking a major row while campaigning for UP Assembly polls, SP chief Akhilesh Yav claimed that Muhamm Ali Jinnah fought for India's independence. dressing a public rally in Hardoi on October 31, he spoke of Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Jinnah in same breath citing that y all became barristers after studying in same place- a reference to UK. Speaking on birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, he contended that y all struggled for an independent India.
Former UP CM Akhilesh Yav remarked, "Sardar Patel Ji, far of nation Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Jinnah studied in same institute and became a barrister. y studied at same place. y became barristers. y fought for India's freedom. y didn't refrain from taking part in any kind of struggle."

Demanding an apology from Akhilesh Yav, UP CM Yogi ityanath commented, "Yesterday, his divisive mindset came to fore once again when he tried to glorify Jinnah by likening him to Sardar Patel. I think that people of Uttar Presh and India will never accept this divisive mindset. This is Talibani mindset". Emphasising that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is basis of country's unity and integrity, he ded that Centre is striving for Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat under leership of PM Modi.
