Sidhu Moose Wala News: Cong demands NIA probe; Punjab DGP reconstitutes 6-member SIT

In the key development in the Sidhu Moosewala murder probe, Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) VK Bhawra on Wednesday strengthened the Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the supervision of ADGP Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Pramod Ban.

The 6-member SIT will have a new Chairman IGP PAP Jaskaran Singh and two new members including AIG AGTF Gurmeet Singh Chauhan and SSP Mansa Gaurav Toora. Meanwhile, the remaining three other members, SP Investigation Mansa Dharamveer Singh, DSP Investigation Bathinda Vishawajeet Singh, and Incharge CIA Mansa Prithipal Singh will continue to be a part of the probe.

The Punjab police on Wednesday said it will question jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi after bringing him to the state in connection with the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.

According to the police, Bishnoi's gang was behind the killing.

At present, Bishnoi is in custody of the Delhi Police's Special Cell in a case under the Arms Act and other sections related to assault on a public servant.

The security of the Punjab BJP office has been upgraded after singer Sidhu Moosewala's murder. Security upgradation is done by Chandigarh police to avoid any incident. Eight CCTV cameras have been installed.

On Wednesday, Punjab Congress leaders submitted a memorandum to Governor Banwarilal Purohit seeking an NIA probe in singer Sidhu Moosewala's murder. The delegation comprising Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa, Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Kuljit Singh Nagra apprised the Governor of the law and order situation in the state. Addressing the media later, Warring maintained that the life of Moosewala who unsuccessfully contested the Punjab Assembly polls could have been saved if the AAP government was more serious. 

A day after he was taken into custody by the Delhi Police Special Cell, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi withdrew his plea from the Delhi High Court seeking protection. Incarcerated since 2015, he was actively associated with the Students Organisation of Punjab University during his stint at the DAV College, Chandigarh, and is facing trial in multiple cases including murder and extortion. Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking protection during the execution of the production warrant. His plea stated that proper videography should be done if he is brought to Punjab by the police. 

A delegation of the PCC led by President, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, including CLP Leader Partap Singh Bajwa, working president Bharat Bhushan Ashu, senior leaders Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Kuljit Singh Nagra will be meeting the Punjab Governor at Raj Bhawan at 12.30 pm today to submit a memorandum. Speculation is rife that they will raise the issue of Sidhu Moosewala's murder. 

Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi withdraw his petition filed in the Delhi High Court. He has expressed apprehension about being killed in an encounter by the Punjab Police. Speaking to the media, his lawyer clarified that they will move the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking relief. 

According to sources, Delhi Police interrogated Shahrukh, lodged in Tihar Jail, in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case. Earlier Shahrukh had got the contract to kill Sidhu Moosewala. While he stayed in Punjab and also did a recce of the singer-cum-Congress politician's house, he was arrested by the police before he could execute the murder. 

As per sources, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi was taken into custody by the Delhi Police Special Cell on Tuesday night itself. His gang has claimed responsibility for murdering singer-cum-Congress leader Sidhu Moosewala.

The Delhi High Court will hear a plea by jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, claiming apprehension of a fake encounter by the Punjab Police today. His plea seeks direction from the Tihar jail authority and the Delhi police to ensure that necessary safeguards including videography, are taken for his safety before giving his custody to any other state police, including the Punjab police. The petition has been listed before Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma. 

In a massive shakeup in the aftermath of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala's murder, the Punjab Government on Tuesday appointed IPS officer Ishwar Singh as the new ADGP, Law & Order. The position had been lying vacant for the last 7 days after the previous ADGP, Law and Order, Naresh Kumar, was shifted. Notably, no one was helming the top post when the singer-turned-politician was brutally murdered in Mansa. While Ishwar Singh has been made the new ADGP, Law & Order, Varinder Kumar has been named the new head of the state vigilance bureau (VB).

Sidhu Moosewala was hit by around 25 bullets, the post-mortem report indicated. As per sources, gunpowder was found on his body. Sources indicated that the presence of gunpower implies that he was fired upon from very close range. The incident took place at 5.25 pm but the police got the information about it at 5.50 pm. The singer-cum-Congress politician passed away before he was taken to the hospital.

On Tuesday, the late Congress leader's mortal remains were taken to his home by his family from Mansa Civil Hospital, after which it was taken to the crematorium in Mansa.

Speaking exclusively to Republic TV, singer Hans Raj Hans remarked, "This is shocking and unfortunate. Reducing his security was a big blunder. Sidhu Moosewala was a remarkable artist and he was also a well-mannered child. He used to meet me like my son". 

Moosewala chants resonated in the air at Sidhu Moosewala's final journey in Punjab's Mansa. His final rites will be performed shortly in his ancestral village.

As per sources, the venue of singer-turned-Congress leader Sidhu Moosewala's final rites has been changed. While preparations were made at a crematorium, the final rites will now take place at another location. The police force has already left for the new location. 

Congress MLA Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa arrived at Sidhu Moosewala's house. Speaking to the media, he said, "The incident is unbearable. Today is his cremation. He was a friend of my son".

In a big development, sources told Republic TV that the Punjab Police will seek the remand of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi who is suspected to be behind the killing of Sidhu Moosewala. He is currently lodged in the Tihar jail. 

The family members of Sidhu Moosewala came out of the Mansa Civil Hospital. They left with his final remains towards their house after which he will be cremated in his ancestral village.

Punjabi-Canadian rapper AP Dhillon expressed his condolence for rapper-singer-turned-politician Sidhu Moosewala's death and spoke about the harsh reality of a Punjabi artist's life. Dhillon, who is best known for his famous songs such as Majhail and Brown Munde, took his Instagram story and shared a picture of Sidhu with two heartbreaking emojis. He posted another story in which he wrote about the Punjabi artist's struggles to deal with on a day-to-day basis. He also talked about how difficult it was to be a "Punjabi artiste behind the scenes" in the face of "constant judgments, hate-filled comments, threats, and negative energy."

Punjab Police chief V K Bhawra on Monday said he never called Sidhu Moosewala a gangster or that he was affiliated with gangsters. The director general of police's (DGP) clarification came after the slain Punjabi singer's father Balkaur Singh wrote to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann demanding a public apology from Bhawra for linking his son's killing with a gang war. In a statement, DGP Bhawra said he has the highest respect for Sidhu Moosewala, and called him a celebrated artist and a cultural icon of Punjab.

Accusing Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann of shirking off responsibility for the reduction in security of Sidhu Moosewala, Punjab Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa said, "I want to draw attention of CM and HM Bhagwant Mann to point number 4 of statement. This is a classic case of shifting blame. When you and your government celebrated security reduction on social media and used it for PR. Accountability rests with you as Home Minister. Don’t try to find a scapegoat now". 

Taking to Twitter, the team of Navjot Singh Sidhu recalled that the incarcerated leader had advised the AAP government and CM Bhagwant Mann to not politicise the police by scaling down the security way back on May 6. It added, "We wish CM had listened… Rest in Peace". 

In a key development, SAD-turned-BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa accused AAP MP Raghav Chadha of calling slain singer Sidhu Moosewala a gangster. 

The killing of youth singer Sidhu Moosewala has turned murkier with details coming out that the entire conspiracy may have hatched in Delhi's Tihar Jail. The Delhi Police has arrested a person called Shahrukh on charges of using a messaging app to communicate from jail with Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi group which had taken the responsibility for the whole incident that unfolded in Punjab's Mansa. During interrogation, Shahrukh revealed that he was given the task to eliminate Siddhu Moosewala by Goldy Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi. 

After the tragic murder of Congress leader and Punjabi rapper, Sidhu Moosewala, another famous Punjabi singer, Mankirt Aulakh, has received death threats on social media. Aulakh, who has appeared in the Punjabi film Main Teri Tu Mera and is well-known for his hit track Gangland, has been allegedly threatened by the Gounder gangster group. Thus, another Punjab gangster group has now come into the limelight after Lawrence Bishnoi, Davinder Bambiha gang and Canada-based gangster Satinder Singh alias Goldy Brar claimed responsibility for the Sidhu Moosewala murder. 

Inspector-General of Police (Faridkot range) Pradeep Yadav said police have got important leads in connection with the murder of Moosewala. “We have got some important leads and some people have been rounded up,” said Yadav when asked about the CCTV footage of 'dhaba'. “Not only that, we have got several leads from important places and Punjab Police is working on that,” said Yadav. - PTI

A Delhi court Monday refused to entertain a plea filed by alleged jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, accused in Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moose Wala's killing, seeking a direction to the jail authorities not to give his custody to Punjab police, court source said.

Special Judge Praveen Singh said there was no ground for the accused to file the application before the court.

The application had sought a direction to the Tihar jail authorities for giving prior information to the court about any production warrant of Punjab or any other state police against Bishnoi and not to give his custody to any other state police. - PTI

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Monday condemned the murder of Congress leader and Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala in Mansa district, a day after his security was withdrawn by the state police, and alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party government in the state is "not in the interest of the people of the state or nation".

"It's a very unfortunate incident that has taken place. We condemn this incident and want a high-level investigation. We are seeing that such incidents are increasing rapidly. I think it is not in the interest of the people of Punjab or the nation. The way incidents are taking place I think it needs to stop," Thakur said. - ANI

As per the Punjab police, a manhunt has been launched to nab the culprits. Several people have been rounded up and cops are also investigating the role of some people seen in the CCTV footage. Multiple teams have been formed to probe the case and the Punjab police have got several leads from important places. 

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday responded to the brutal killing of Punjabi music singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moosewala and slammed the opposition parties for politicising the issue. Citing negligence on the part of Moosewala's security staff, AAP MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj claimed that someone close to him might be involved in the murder as no one else knew he was going out without proper security.

State Congress chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring joins a candle march condemning the murder of Punjabi Singer Sidhu Moose Wala in Punjab's Mansa. "So far no one from the Punjab govt has issued a statement to empathize. It's been 30 hours," he said. 

"A youth you had a bright future. Central IB, and RAW, all spoke about the threat to Moose Wala. But the Punjab govt decided to remove his security. My question is on the basis of which IB assesment was his security removed? Why did they publicize the security cover removal?" questioned Congress MP Shaktisinh Gohil.

"We demand an independent inquiry. CBI or NIA investigate the international link of his murder," he added.

Blaming Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for Punjab Singer Sidhu Moose Wala's murder, a party delegation led by Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal on Monday met Governor Banwarilal Purohit urging him to dismiss the latter from his office. Badal also demanded the National Investigation Agency (NIA) probe the killing of Moose Wala that took place yesterday in the Mansa district of Punjab - ANI

The NSUI held a candle march for Sidhu Moose Wala at Jammu today. While Punjab Police is investigating the murder, Congress has sought that the case be transferred to the NIA and CBI.

The Punjab Police has stated that the arrest of 2 gangsters from Moga is not related to the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala. "No link of today's operation with Moose Wala, further investigation underway," said the police.

Around two dozen entry and exit bullet wounds were found on the body of the late singer, as per sources. Excessive bleeding could have resulted in his death, as per sources. Injury to internal organs of the deceased was found and a bullet was also found from the skull bone. Four types of ammunition were fired at Moosewala--0.30 bore, 9mm, 7.62mm,  and 0.45 bore. Viscera samples have been sent for further examination. 

Pannel of Five Doctors have completed the postmortem of Sidhu Moose Wala. Postmortem findings have not been shared with the police so far. Officials say all the suspects have been identified. Manhunt continues to arrest the accused. 

Holding a candle march in Chandigarh, the Congress party blamed AAP for Sidhu Moose Wala's murder. "AAP Govt is responsible. They circulated the document of the security removal because he was speaking against the govt. He turned into a burden for the govt. His latest song was also opposed by them," the Congress alleged. 

A day after the shocking murder of Sidhu Moose Wala, another singer Mankirt Aulakh gets a death threat on social media. Apparently, Mankirt had openly come out in support of Vicky Middukhera post his killing.

Inside details of Delhi Police's questioning over Sidhu Moose Wala's murder accessed. As per sources, 8 names were taken during interrogation including those of gangsters Goldy Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi. 

They were picked up from the Shimla bypass area here and taken to Punjab for interrogation, a police official said on condition of anonymity. Persons were picked up over suspicion of having links with the case, the official said. 

The men were returning from Hemkund Sahib, a Himalayan Sikh shrine located in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district, the official said.  The Punjab Police will now ascertain the role played by them in the singer's murder, the official added.

In a massive development, the Punjab Police has detained five people from Dehradun's Peliyon Police Chowki area in connection with Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moosewala's murder. The detention of six people comes after the Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) and the Punjab STF carried out a joint operation in connection with Moosewala's murder in Punjab's Mansa. Notably, the five people were detained after two persons were also detained from Punjab's Moga.

As per sources, the number plate was removed by attackers to evade arrest. Car was pushed by attackers from roadside to a field which is downward to hide it from passersby. Multiple teams have been formed, and CCTV is being scanned in Moga. 

As per sources, Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi will also move the High Court. Earlier, Republic had reported that Bishnoi, who allegedly has links to Sidhu Moosewala's murder, has knocked on the doors of a Delhi court suspecting a 'fake encounter' by Punjab police. 

Sidhu Moose Wala's cremation is likely to be held tomorrow. The post-mortem of the late sing is still underway. 

In the latest update, the Delhi Special Cell went to Tihar Jail for the questioning of Bishnoi. They also checked his cell, but nothing was found. Special Cell also searched the barracks gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria of Punjab who is also lodged in Tihar Jail, but nothing was recovered. 

The forensic team is currently analyzing the Alto car which was allegedly used by Sidhu Moose Wala's killers.

Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is being alleged to have links with Sidhu Moosewala's killing, has knocked a Delhi court suspecting a fake encounter by Punjab police. The plea was filed before special NIA judge Praveen Singh who refused to pass any directions saying that "Security is a subject of the state and it would not comment on the same". The application comes a day after Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead in Punjab & Bishnoi had taken the responsibility for the same.

The party has warned that if the police stop them, a big protest will be staged where effigies will be burned. 
 

A day after the brutal murder of Singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moose Wala, Punjab Congress Committee Chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring made a massive claim that the Moosewala family is being forced to perform the deceased leader's last rites and postmortem as soon as possible. The PCC Chief also informed that the family has kept certain conditions in front of the government and will only allow the postmortem if their demands are fulfilled. 

Gangsters Sukhpreet Budda Happy and Deepak have been arrested by the police. They were linked with Sulhpreet Budda and Kirpal Gang. A White Scorpio has also been recovered. Three 32 bore weapons, 08 live rounds also recovered.

A gun was recovered by Punjab Police from Sidhu Moosewala's jeep after the shooting in which he was killed; Republic accesses video of the recovery being made.

2 vehicles were caught during STF Uttarakhand checking. The possibility of the presence of gangsters from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in the car is suspected. Lawrence Bishnoi gang is said to be involved in the murder of Moose Wala. As per sources, the Punjab police is reaching Dehradun soon. STF and Doon police are taking the help of Punjab police in the interrogation of the arrested people. 

Suspected killers of Sindu Moose Wala visited a Dhaba in Mansa at around 10 AM, before attacking the singer, claim sources. Punjab police have retrieved the CCTV footage from the dhaba to identify the assailants.

Punjab Haryana High Court, while looking into Sidhu Moose Wala's death case, pulled up the AAP government over publicizing secret documents regarding the withdrawal of security cover for VIPs.

"How did secret documents on withdrawal of security get leaked?" the court questioned th Bhagwant Mann-led government. 

The HC was hearing a petition filed by Akali leader Veer Singh Lopoke. The next hearing will be held on June 2, 2022.

Following Punjabi singer-cum-Congress leader Sidhu Moosewala's murder on May 29, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Minority Cell member from Jammu, Tejwant Singh resigned from his post. While tendering his resignation, Singh also sought the resignation of the Punjab Home Minister Bhagwant Mann on moral grounds.  

Speaking to Republic TV, Tejwant Singh said, "AAP has totally failed in Punjab. No person is feeling safe, neither the leaders nor the people as there have been many killings in Punjab in the past few days. Moosewala's murder in the broad daylight shows there is no law and order in Punjab. AAP has not fulfilled any promise it made before coming to power. Kejriwal is handling the Chief Minister and other leaders in Punjab."

Punjab MP Jasbir Singh Gill has said that Sidhu Moose Wala's killing is a political murder and held the AAP government responsible for the singer's death. AAP leads an inexperienced government, which is why this incident happened," he told Republic.

AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj has claimed that there was negligence on the part of Sidhu Moose Wala's security staff, which cost his life. "He could have taken two commandos with him," Bharadwaj said. 

Asking parties not to indulge in politics over the singer's murder, he informed that 6 people have been arrested in the case. "The law & order situation is good. Sidhu's murder is linked with the Bishnoi gang. The probe is on," the AAP leader said.

Following the shocking murder Sidhu Moose Wala, two SUVs involved in the murder were seized by the Punjab Police. Additionally, fake car number plates used to carry out the attack have also been recovered. 

It has been learned that the recovered number plate is of a Mahindra Scorpio vehicle registered in Ferozepur but was used by the attackers on the Bolero vehicle, to carry out the attack on Sidhu Moosewala's vehicle in Punjab's Mansa district. 

The Police, investigating the singer's murder, suspect that someone in the close circle of Moosewala is behind the gruesome killing. Police are also looking at the nexus between top gangsters in Punjab as well as support that could have been received from terrorists. 

Congress workers staged a massive in Jammu against the AAP-led Punjab government over the daylight murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala in Mansa on Sunday. Expressing concern over the law and order situation in the state, the party workers demanded the resignation of CM Bhagwant Mann. They also burnt Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann's effigy outside the AAP office. 

The Congress leader told reporters that 'democracy is killed' and experimenting with rules is a threat to the unity of the country.  "A comedian can't rule the state. Recent killing is the proof that the AAP in Punjab is ruled by bosses", he added. 

Writing to the Principal Secy(Home), Punjab, Punjab & Haryana HC Registrar General said, "I've been directed to convey the request of Punjab CM for Chief Justice, Punjab & Haryana High Court to get conducted an enquiry headed by a sitting Judge of High Court in this regard". He added, "I request you to place this case before Chief Justice for getting this matter inquired into by a sitting Judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court". 

"We heard gunshots and ran to the spot. The assailants had already fled. We saw Sidhu and two other people injured with gunshot wounds inside their car. The two people seemed conscious but Sidhu was not. There were at least 13 gunshots on the front mirror of the vehicle. We took them to the hospital in a car passing by," said Mehshi, the man who first spotted Sidhu Moosewala after the attack. 

The Delhi Police has suspected that Sidhu Moosewala's murder could be an act of revenge against Vicky Middukhera's murder that took place in August last year. Delhi Police's Special Cell has stated that both Moosewala and his manager Shaganpreet were allegedly involved in killing Vicky. 

Punjab Congress Chief Amarinder Singh Warring has claimed that Sidhu Moose Wala's family is being forced to get postmortem of the singer and conduct his last rites.

Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Assembly, Partap Singh Bajwa met the parents of the slain Punjabi singer-politician Monday. While speaking to the media, Bajwa hit out at the AAP government and its Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann over the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala in broad daylight.

"AAP Govt should stop tinkering with the security of individuals to gain cheap publicity on social media. What was the point of putting the list on social media after the withdrawal of their security? If anything happens to any individual whose security has been withdrawn. It will be the direct responsibility of Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann. Instead of giving 80 security officials to Kejriwal, 45 to Raghav Chadha, 20 to his sister, and 15 to his mother. He should focus on managing the law and order of Punjab," he said.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday announced to set up a Judicial Commission under the chairmanship of a sitting judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court for enquiring into the murder case of Sidhu Moose Wala. 

The Chief Minister, while acceding to a request by Balkar Singh Sidhu, the father of the slain singer, said that the state government will be requesting the Chief Justice of the High Court to get the case enquired into by a sitting judge. Bhagwant Mann said that the state government will ensure full cooperation with this Enquiry Commission including roping in any of the central agencies like the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

A day after Punjabi singer and politician Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead by assailants in Mansa, Republic on Monday accessed CCTV visuals capturing the moment of the brutal attack. The 59-second-clip records the moment when Sidhu Moosewala's jeep was fired upon by assailants near Jawaharke village. 

At the onset, the video shows Moosewala's Mahindra Thar vehicle being trailed by two cars - a white Bolero and a dark Grey Scorpio - and shortly after they take a turn, incessant firing is heard in the background. At least 46 rounds of firing can be heard in the shocking video.

"We will hold a 'peace march' from the hospital to Gurudwara Sahib at 6 pm (today) to pay tributes to him," said Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh Warring, in Mansa.

Congress party said the family of Sidhu Moosewala has demanded a committee be formed under a sitting HC judge, and the help of NIA-CBI be taken. They have said that the singer's post-mortem will be done only when all 3 demands are met. 

Punjab Congress Chief Amarinder Singh Warring asked, "Why was security withdrawn when there was a threat perception and it was made public?" Voicing the family's demand, Warring said the NIA should probe Moose Wala's death.

"I condemn in the strongest terms the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala. I never called him a gangster. Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for his murder. The culprits will be arrested soon and justice will be delivered," said VK Bhawra, DGP Punjab.

"Incidents rapidly increasing in Punjab. His (Sidhu Moose Wala) security was withdrawn one day before. A mechanism is developed and a committee reviews security threats to individuals. Security is given on that basis.This shouldn't be a political decision," said Himachal CM Jairam Thakur. 

"The police decide on threat perception. The CM cannot decide. This is the first time in history that a CM has taken a decision on his own. What's even worse is they released the list," Akali Dal Chief Sukhbir Singh Badal said. 

"AAP govt is unable to control law and order. This govt should be dismissed. We met the Punjab governor today and briefed him about the law and order situation," said the Punjab BJP delegation after meeting the Governor. 

In a shocking development on May 29, singer-cum-Congress leader Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in the Jawaharke village. 

The Mahindra Thar vehicle which he was driving was intercepted from the front by two cars - a white Bolero and a dark Grey Scorpio and heavy firing took place. A CCTV footage shows two cars trailing Moosewala's black SUV several minutes before he was shot dead. 

While he was declared dead on arrival at the Mansa civil hospital, his cousin and a friend who was traveling with him survived. The police, on Sunday, said that the singer had a bulletproof car, which he did not use on the day he was killed. A preliminary investigation revealed three weapons including 7.62mm, 9 mm, and 0.30 bore weapons were used in the crime. Several political leaders on Sunday came out to slam Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann as Moosewala's murder came a day after the state withdrew his security.

Amid the massive protests by Congress over Sidhu Moosewala's murder, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann reiterated that his government will bring the culprits to book. Conceding the demand of the singer-cum-Congress leader's father, CM Mann announced a judicial probe into the incident and stated that the state government will request the Punjab & Haryana High Court Chief Justice to ask a sitting HC judge to probe the murder. Without explicitly calling for an NIA or CBI probe as demanded, CM Mann assured that the state government will extend its full cooperation to those carrying out the investigation. 

In a major development, the Punjab Police on Monday made the first arrest in connection with Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moosewala’s murder. The police have now arrested two gangsters from Moga. The police are now probing their connection with the murder as arms and ammunition were also recovered from the gangsters. Meanwhile, the Punjab police are headed to Delhi as a Delhi angle also emerged in Mooswala's murder case.

The Punjab police arrested two gangsters in Moga in connection with Sidhu Moosewala’s murder. The gangsters were detained along with a Scorpio vehicle licenced at ‘PB65 E XX22’. The Moga police also recovered three 32 bore weapons and eight live rounds of ammunition from the arrested gangsters. The police are now probing their links to the killing of Sidhu Moosewala.
