Stalin slams TN Dy CM OPS on Jayalalithaa death probe, repeats 'DMK will punish culprit'

DMK supremo MK Stalin cornered Tamil Nu CM O Pannerselvam for allegedly 'dodging' Arumughaswamy Commission investigating death of ex-CM J Jayalalithaa and slammed commission for t making a breakthrough in case so far. dressing a gram sabha at Coimbatore on Saturday, MK Stalin pointed out that it was OPS, t DMK, who h claimed that re was a mystery behind Jayalalithaa's death and that DMK was hell-bent to find culprit behind death of former CM and punish him. DMK and Stalin have on earlier occasions launched attacks on AIMK govt and Arumughaswamy Commission for failing to ascertain cause of Jayalalithaa's death four years after unforeseen incident.

Taking on TN Dy CM OPS, MK Stalin highlighted that senior AIMK leer h been called eight times by Arumughaswamy Commission to record his statement but allegedly skipped summons. Furr, Stalin claimed that OPS h stitched a deal with EPS and h accepted position of Deputy CM. DMK supremo pointed out that Jayalalithaa was elected as Tamil Nu's CM by people and slammed Edappi Palaniswami for projecting himself as CM face in upcoming polls and claimed that OPS camp & alliance partner BJP did t accept it.

"It has been three years since Arumughaswamy commission was set up. Infact, commission was condition/reason OPS stated he returned back to AIMK after he split from AIMK. y h set up commission with timeline set as 3 months to find out cause behind former CM's death. But it has been three years. Several times commission has given summons to m (AIMK) an till w, action has been taken. In summons called, Neir OPS r Vijayabaskar has appeared before commission. Pannerselvam blames Vijaybaskar, and Vijaybaskar says it's OPS. If we look at all y're saying, it looks like both of m have a hand behind this", Stalin h said earlier in 2020 launching an attack on AIMK government.

9th extension for Arumughaswamy Commission
Tamil Nu government, in October, extended tenure of Arumughaswamy Commission probing death of former CM J Jayalalithaa by three months, making it 9th such extension given. Arumughaswamy Commission, led by retired judge Arumughaswamy, was formed on September 25, 2017, following demand for a probe into late AIMK supremo's death by party cre and has examined 154 witnesses till date, including ex-CM Jayalalithaa's former aide V Sasikala. Commission, which was granted a three-month extension on June 24, is yet to table its findings in death of J Jayalalithaa. Furr, Commission also faces a legal hurdle at Supreme Court after Apollo Hospitals filed a plea to stop proceedings of Arumughaswamy Commission, citing that latter was allegedly working in a biased manner. In response to this, Commission asked TN government to file a petition revoking stay, however, matter is still pending in SC.
