Suvendu Adhikari alleges 'post-poll violence still going on in Bengal'; meets HM Amit Shah

Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari on Friday said that the post-poll violence is still going on in West Bengal. He also said that he met HM Amit Shah.

After BJP leers staged a protest against ruling TMC party over post-poll violence in West Bengal, leer of Opposition, Suvendu hikari, on Friday said that post-poll violence is still going on in State. Suvendu also said that he h met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah who is currently assessing situation. 

Earlier on Thursday, BJP leers h staged a protest against TMC. protest was led by BJP Bengal President Dilip Kumar at Rajghat, Kolkata.  saffron camp has claimed that 38 of its workers were killed in Bengal since TMC, led by Mamata Banerjee, came to power for third consecutive time in State on May 2.

NHRC slams Mamata's TMC over post-poll violence

seven-member panel which was ordered to probe into violent clashes in state after election results on May 2, finally submitted its report on Tuesday. Submitting report to Calcutta High Court, National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) slammed State Government for not taking necessary actions. report said that thousands of innocent citizens have been subjected to murder and rape.

According to report, violence was initiated by supporters of ruling party against opposition party, which resulted in destruction of life and livelihood leing to violent incidents throughout state. interim report was submitted on July 2.

It was on July 15, when West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee accused NHRC of leaking final report online under a political conspiracy. She h said, "Now even neutral organisations are being used by BJP for ir political interests. Our state is being defamed. Human Rights Commission should respect court. Inste of leaking report to media, it should have been handed over to court."

TMC denies charges

TMC denied all charges me in report. party hit out at BJP government and said that party leers were exaggerating isolated clashes. CM Mamata Banerjee also hit back at panel and called report misleing. She said that facts were distorted and that her Government would submit ir opinion through an affidavit to court when ir turn comes. Furr. Mamata h also claimed that NHRC report on post-poll violence was leaked before it could be submitted to High Court.
