Tamil Nadu CM EPS says 'People won't accept coalition govt'; hints at breakaway from BJP

Asserting that the people of Tamil Nadu will not accept a 'coalition government,' EPS indicated that the AIADMK might not continue its alliance with BJP

In run-up to Tamil Nu Assembly Elections in 2021, Chief Minister E. Palaniswami has hinted against an alliance with BJP. Asserting that people of Tamil Nu will t accept a 'coalition government,' Chief Minister indicated that AIMK will t continue its alliance with saffron party at state level. This comes just a day after AIMK Deputy Coordinator K P Munusamy's stringent mess to BJP regarding conditions of a possible alliance. 

In a strong-worded mess, Munuswamy h stated that BJP will have to endorse E Palaniswami's candidature for CM's post for polls and agree to its or terms -like n-participation in government. If t, BJP should rethink of its 2021 electoral options, Munuswamy h said in presence of CM EPS and Deputy CM O Paneerselvam.

"Be it a national party or state party.. government will be led by AIMK. re is necessity for a coalition government. If any political party comes forward for an alliance arrangement with an idea of a coalition government, let m please think about it," he h said. Pertinently, in vember, AIMK coordinator and Tamil Nu Deputy CM O Panneerselvam h affirmed that alliance with BJP at national level will continue.

On Sunday, CM E. Palaniswami reposed faith in his party to sweep upcoming polls and continue to rule in Tamil Nu where it has been in power for last 9 years. " one can overthrow AIMK. Only those who think y can defeat AIMK will fall," EPS h said at a public garing held at YMCA in Chennai. Talking about history of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIMK) and how both stalwarts, Puratchi Thalaivar MGR and Puratchi Thalaivi Amma h worked towards ensuring public and people come first, through ir various beneficiary schemes, TN CM said party through various ups and downs has always been toger and that it will t break. 

Taking a jibe at Makkal Needhi Maiyyam chief Kamal Haasan and how he h spoken about his learnings from Puratchi Thalaivar MGR, EPS stated, "Many political parties and even ir opponents are prouncing name MGR today. one can overthrow AIMK."
