Tariq Anwar concurs with Ghulam Nabi Azad, says 'entire Congress responsible for downfall'
Amid the ongoing internal tussle between the Congress leaders, Tariq Anwar held the entire Congress leadership and its members responsible for the shortcomings.

Amid ongoing internal tussle among Congress leers over party’s downfall in recent Bihar elections, Tariq Anwar on Monday held entire Congress leership and its members responsible for shortcomings. Accepting Ghulam Nabi Az’s claim that ‘Congress was at its lowest,’ Anwar said that party should collectively work on its drawbacks rar than blaming anyone in particular.
“Ghulam Nabi Az is correct to an extent, but he is also responsible for failure and so am I. If all leers acted responsibly, Congress would not have faced defeat in elections,” Tariq Anwar said.

He furr stated that speaking to media and giving interviews about party’s flaws creates a wrong picture in front of its workers, and such things should be avoided. Congress leer implored his fellow members to understand ir responsibilities, concentrate on party's current situation and find ways to improve it in future.
“We all have shortcomings and we should work upon m rar than blaming anyone in particular. entire party, including its leership and karyakartas are responsible for its condition today. We must inform Congress President about everything that is in favour of party,” said Anwar.

'Congress is at its lowest'
Siding with veteran Congress leers criticising ir own party, Ghulam Nabi Az h also underlined need for elections to Congress Working Committee and president post on Sunday. Seeking major overhaul in Congress' functioning, he said that party must hold elections for its cres from booth level till national level. Seeking retrospection on Congress' performance in Mhya Presh and Bihar, he said that leership must take accountability as a connection was lost with people. He also hit out at party's 'young guard', accusing m operating in a 5-star culture.

In a recent TV interview, Kapil Sibal h said that people 'do not consider Congress to be an effective alternative' anymore. He questioned, "How can you be an effective Opposition when we don’t even have a full-time president for 18 months?" Similar remarks were me by Chidambaram as well, who said, bypoll results in Gujarat, Mhya Presh, Uttar Presh and Karnataka show that Congress eir has no organisational presence on ground or has been weakened considerably."

se comments by senior Congress leers, however, met with usual backlash by Gandhi loyalists like hir Ranjan Choudhary, Ashok Gehlot, Salman Khurshid and Harish Rawat. All leers reposed ir faith in Gandhis, saying 'Congress will overcome this slump'.
