TMC attacks Centre over Pegasus again; blames PM Modi for Monsoon session disruption

The Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) has attacked PM Narendra Modi after he assured that that the government is ready to discuss all issues.

As Parliament's Winter Session commenced on Monday, Opposition has stepped up its ante against Centre on a series of issues, mainly three farm laws. Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) has also attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi after he assured that government is rey to discuss all issues. In dition, he also assured that Union government will also answer all questions. Taking to Twitter, TMC's Rajya Sabha MP Derek O'Brien attacked PM Modi. 

O'Brien responded to PM Modi and has termed his statement as 'hollow words'. Moreover, he has claimed that PM Modi refused to discuss Pegasus issue. ditionally, he has also held Prime Minister responsible for 'disrupting' full Monsoon Session, in spite of massive ruckus and repeated sloganeering by opposition at time. Speaking about farm laws, TMC parliamentarian remarked that union government 'broke all rules and bulldozed farm laws' in Parliament.

SC forms Expert Panel to probe Pegasus Snoopgate allegations

On October 27, Supreme Court bench led by CJI NV Ramana appointed a technical committee to probe Pegasus snoopgate allegations. CJI Ramana h remarked that privacy is important for all citizens and also said that restrictions can be imposed only to safeguard national security. In dition, he asserted that surveillance affects rights of people, he opined that this technology may have a chilling effect on freedom of press. 

technical committee comprises of three members- National Forensic Sciences University Dean Dr. Naveen Kumar Chaudhary, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham professor Dr. Prabhakaran P and IIT Bombay professor Dr. Ashwin Anil Gumaste. functioning of this committee will be overseen by retired Supreme Court judge RV Raveendran and will be assisted by ex-IPS officer Alok Joshi and cyber security expert Dr. Sundeep Oberoi. panel has been directed to prepare report after a thorough inquiry and place its report before SC expeditiously.

'Farm laws to be repealed': Prime Minister Narendra Modi 

On November 19, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that Centre will officially repeal three farm laws in upcoming Winter session of Parliament. PM Modi was speaking on occasion of Guru Parab and said that a section of farmers remained unconvinced of benefits of Farm laws in spite of multiple rounds of talks. In dition, he also requested protesting farmers to he home. Moreover, Prime Minister informed that in order to strengn Minimum Support Price (MSP) structure, an agricultural committee will be formed. PM Modi's huge announcement comes ahe of elections in Uttar Presh and Punjab where most protesting farmers hail from.
