Trinamool Congress farmers' wing on Thursday protested against farm bills across West Bengal, demanding that se should be scrapped.

Describing farm sector reform bills as "death knell" for farmers and agricultural workers of country, hundreds of activists of TMC's Kisaan Khet Mazdoor cell organised protest marches in various parts of state.

Carrying posters and placards against BJP-led government at Centre, members of TMC farmers' wing shouted slogans and burnt copies of se bills.

In Kolkata, farmers held a protest rally and displayed ir produce such as vegetables and foodgrain as part of ir demonstration. y vowed t to allow big corporate to foray into retail chain business of agricultural produce in state.

"We would oppose se farm sector reform bills tooth and nail. Farmers will t get minimum support price. It will le to a food crisis across country. se bills were passed only to help big corporate," TMC Kisaan Khet Mazdoor state president Becharam Manna said.

Parliament has passed Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill, Farmers' Produce Tre and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, and Farmers' (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill.
